Man I wish Toronto had the King's GM... So far it seems that the Kings have managed to

    A) Ship off Webber's dehabilitating contract and deteriorating knees for 3 serviceable players.
[IMG] Trade away an injury prone back-up pg for a decent scoring SG.
    C) Get a young efficient defense and good decision making back-up pg for a 2nd rounder.
    D) Sign a PF with career averages of 20 and 10, for 5-6 mill a year.

They pretty much had 3 major problems, an injury prone PF, PG, and lost a SG. They got 3 replacements, and 3 tradeable pieces as well.

    In
    J. Hart
    Bonzi Wells
    SAR
    Corliss Williamson
    Kenny Thomas
    Brian Skinner

    Out
    Webber
    B Jax
    Mobley

I think so far this season, Miami, Sacramento, and Washington have done the best jobs so far.

You forgot that they traded Doug Christie and his horrid contract for Cutino Mobely. I thought that was a great move by them but I still dont know why they didnt want Mobley back, he is better than Bonzi IMO.

Its probably not done, they will continue to find ways to improve their team. I forgot about unloading Christie's large contract. I think they didn't resign Cuttino, because he was asking for too much or something. 8 mill a year seems excessive.

I thought it would have been smart for them to re-sign Songalia.

Mobley is a great player but I don't think he fit the Kings very well. Granted, he is a high percentage shooter but he is slightly undersized at the 2 and doesn't make up for it by playing defense very well. He also forced a lot of shots rather than playing in the flow of the offense. If you noticed in the playoffs last year the Kings got destroyed by the Sonics but in the last game when Mobley went out, Mo Evans was able to defend Ray Allen as good or better than Mobley and the offense ran just as well. I think the Kings would have re-signed him but they knew his asking price was too high for what they were getting.

Don't confuse this for a dislike for Cuttino Mobley, I just don't think he fit that well.

To be perfectly honest I actually thought Cuttino would be a great fit in Sac. Living about 30 min east of Orlando I was able to watch quite a few Magic games while he was with them and I really liked the way he played, and I still do. I tought this trade was going to work out but he just never really meshed. Now whether you can blame this on the player or the lack of actualy meaningful practice time is another debate.

Also another debate is how stupid Magic mgmt was to trade Cuttino's expiring contract to the Kings for an aged Doug Christie with a hefty contract that didnt expire for another year.

Don't confuse that for a dislike of Doug Christie either!!

It seems that Christie is going to the Mavs, I guess he doesn't appreciate being traded. He pretty much went to Sacramento's 2nd biggest rival over the years. Sounds like he wants to have some vengeance. [IMG]

Also, does Matt Barnes contract end this year? I heard that he played really well with the Kings and he really enjoyed playing in Sac-town. Any news of him returning?
