Jist of the deal.
Kirk Hinrich and Ron Artest to the Lakers.
Kobe to the Bulls.
Young prospects to Sacramento.
Its awaiting Kobe approval.

If this is true (which is probably isn't) I will really start questioning myself as a Laker fan. But this is probably just the 100th rumor of a Kobe trade, so I'm calling BS.

Boers and Bernestein are saying that the Lakers are so digusted with Kobe that they just want him out of there. What does he do, just curse out the front office after every practice and game? Perhaps a meeting of him asking for that extension was the final straw?
In addition, they said the deal is completely out of Paxson and Kupchak's hands. Its all between the owners.
Makes sense, that Hinrich is going, and not Gordon. Generally the two best players don't go in superstar trades (Gordon/Deng), and the third best does (Kirk). In addition, the Lakers might be scared that Gordon will take the Qualifying Offer (which he used as a scare tactic to Paxson), and bolt in free agency the next year, rather than stick around on a potentially losing team.
I wouldn't be shocked if there is misinformation on the Sacramento end of the deal. I think Tyrus will probably be going to LA, with Sefolosha going to Sacramento...I just don't see Sacramento gouging Tyrus Thomas out for Artest.

How credible are these talk show hosts? I know the guys in LA are always overexaggerating to get listners, so I'm just curious if these hosts do the same thing or not.
I wonder who floated this info out there. Just last night Magic said Luol Deng was a deal-breaker for the Lakers so this makes him look foolish if Deng isn't included or someone better than Deng isn't included.

They aren't going on and on about Kobe. They went to the Gordon/Deng extensions, then now they are talking about Aaron Gray. Seems like just the general flow of the show. Doubt its to get listeners. Everytime the Score has reported a trade, its come true from my recollection (Jalen Rose and Yell to Toronto for Davis; Aldridge for Thomas; Basden for Neck; Curry trade).
They also said, that Magic Johnson isn't close to the situation at all.

I think the final trade will be (if this holds to).
Bulls Receive: Kobe Bryant Lakers Receive: Kirk Hinrich Ron Artest Tyrus Thomas Kings Receive: Thabo Sefolosha Chris Duhon Viktar Khryapa
That actually gives everyone, except the Kings some interesting teams. Bulls keep their two main guys. Lakers have a real interesting team after this. If they can swing that JO deal still, reuniting Artest/JO (60+ win teams together) would be fun. Maybe bring back Rick Carlisle in LA if that goes down.
They said its insanity right now. Bulls really want Kobe (but not Paxson), Lakers really want him gone.

LOL
He's part owner of the team and is very much involved in every decision the Lakers make.
This trade just seems crazy for the Lakers to get involved with even if the Bulls include Tyrus Thomas. The Lakers would have 4 PGs and 4 SFs.
I wonder if the Lakers also get a deal with Jermain O'Neal and reunite him with Artest. Oh the irony.

So basically based on the radio we'll be getting Hinrich/Artest for Kobe? Why on earth will we need another point guard? Fisher-Farmar-Crittenton-Hinrich??? WTF??? We trade away Kobe because he is a head case, so in return we get back Artest? The guy is crazy, and is an even bigger headcase than Kobe. Not to mention we'll be loaded with small fowards as well. Walton-Radmanovic-Odom-Artest?? This doesn't make sense at all. I highly doubt our management will be so stupid as to accepting this deal.
pg: Hinrich, Fisher, Farmar, Crittenton, Karl
sg: Evans, Sasha
sf: Artest, Walton, Radmanovic
pf: Odom, Turiaf, Cook
c: Bynum, Brown, Mihm
We'd be better off just dealing Bynum to the Kings for Artest and keeping Kobe

While we're at it, let's trade Hinrich, Fisher, and Farmar to the Knicks for Stephon Marbury. Then wait for Minnesota to buy out Walker, and sign him here. Then sign Boykins to a contract and force Shawn Bradley out of retirement. Speaking of retirement, we can then go out and sign Charles Oakley and Latrell Sprewell. After all, the Buss family needs some way to fill up the seats, why not put on an 82 game freak show in Los Angeles?
pg: Marbury, Boykins, Crittenton
sg: Sprewell, Evans, Sasha
sf: Artest, Walton, Radmanovic
pf: Odom, Turiaf, Walker, Cook, Oakley
c: Bynum, Brown, Bradley
Obviously cuts need to be made, but that's an excellent 82 game freak show right there...

Disgusted with Kobe? He might not be happy with LA right now, but he's still playing hard. He scored 45 pts yesterday, and he's not giving it all? The management needs to make some moves, instead of putting it all on him. Had they managed to make some reasonable trades this offseason, KB would be a happy Laker. They should be disgusted with themselves, not Bryant.

QUOTE (BG7 Lavigne)

B&B said the Bulls and Lakers have agreed on multiple trades already, but Kobe has vetoed them.

Sounds more like these two are covering their tracks. Why would Kobe veto the aforementioned deal when he gets exactly what he wanted? He gets to play with DENG and BEN WALLACE in the East, in Chicago.

Not the one reportedly that up on the table for him to put his stamp of approval on.

QUOTE (BG7 Lavigne)

B&B said the Bulls and Lakers have agreed on multiple trades already, but Kobe has vetoed them.

Then either the entire rumor was Bull, or Kobe never wanted to leave LA in the first place. That trade was the best opportunity for him to go somewhere and win a championship. The only key piece the Bulls would be giving up is Kirk Hinrich. That lineup would have been set for at least an ECF appearance. No way does Kobe reject that offer, unless, like I said, he doesn't want to leave LA, which I find to be not believable.

Bulls would still have to bolster up their team some if they did this trade.
They'd have
PG-Ben Gordno/JamesOn Curry SG-Kobe Bryant/Thomas Gardener/Adrian Griffin SF-Luol Deng/Andres Nocioni PF-Joe Smith/Joakim Noah C- Ben Wallace/Aaron Gray
I believe thats our complete depth. We'd likely sign one more big man, one swingman, and one point guard. (Micahel Sweetney's return to the NBA???? : D )

I would not do this trade. If we trade Kobe, I want to get younger players, not Artest and Hinrich.
