This is not a rumor, but I was thinking that we may have an opportunity to trade Leonard and Claver to Chicago for Hinrich. Since Chicago is cheap, this would save them around 1 million this year, but have two contract players that are young.

Claver needs playing time, which I think he would get in Chicago. Leonard is another player that could excel under Thibs. It could be a win/win for us.

I think Hinrich is a good defender, but he doesn't force anything. He plays within the flow of offense and can play both the PG and SG positions.

Why are so many focusing on back court help? Portland is in pretty dire need of some front court depth with some experience

I think after December 15th or something like that. But we would need to add another player to make salaries match. You can pick between Barton & Earl/Crabbe, Claver, and Leonard

I would like to have a player that can run the offense from the bench. I think Mo still requires Damien in the game for it to work. I want to make sure that Damien can get some rest.

I am for the front court help too. Maybe we can use just Meyers Leonard for Reggie Evans?

I think somebody capable of backing up Lopez is a slightly more pressing need than a back-court player, but I think they could use more of a pure point than Mo to run the second unit; hopefully getting more out of catch and shoot guys like Dorrell and hopefully making guys like Robinson and others more effective.

That said I don't think Hinrich is the answer. His shooting numbers have done nothing but plummet in recent years, which makes me think he'd be ill suited to play in Stott's offense, no matter what his other positive attributes might be.

...please don't overlook Mo's leadership and veteran presence -- the dude is basically a player-coach out there.

Mo Chuck has been pretty solid this year. We probably need to add to him, not replace him

Didn't MB say last game that Mo is the league leader in assists and steals in players coming off the bench? Not sure who we're going to find better than that.

Mo will is fine and we have Cj coming back. I'd like a more reliable big more than anything.

I don't want Mo gone. I am not Nate… I want to get another dynamic. Maybe Hinrich isn't the answer, but I would like to have a true point guard.

PS: You forget he also leads with the most turn overs BTW.

No, he's leading the league in turnovers off the bench. I'm ready to give Watson a little time with the starters. Either that, or have somebody shoot Mo with an airsoft gun every time he shoots the ball with 19 seconds left on the shot clock...

LMAO. I could just see a nice yellow splotch on his jersey after one of those shots. And Meyers Leonard hunkering down behind the bench giggling.

I don't like Mo Williams's game much (except when he's hitting) but I think Olshey has other things that he has to consider. For example, Mo Williams was a pretty big coup for us for not much money, so to kick him to the curb would be a bad message to other FAs and take away a huge part of Olshey's appeal - a good connection with a bunch of players from his past and a good rep. (Of course Eric Gordon might have something to say about that.) HOWEVER, if Mo is on board with it, that's another matter. And actually I had my suspicions that Olshey might've got him to sign by agreeing to trade him somewhere he wanted to go later in the season (or maybe in the offseason).

I'm fine with Mo but if we could do something like Mo and Robinson for Gibson and Hinrich I would def have to think for a while on it. Gibson would be a really nice fit with our bigs and Hinrich would be a very good backup pg, would also clear up CJ to come in off the bench and gun away without worrying about him and Mo both getting enough shots.
