Kerry Kittles missed practice while seeking a second opinion on the right knee that he tweaked during Tuesday morning's shoot-around. Kittles played 32 minutes in the 103-98 loss to the Bucks, but had to sit out the fourth quarter. "He was done," Nets coach Lawrence Frank said yesterday. "After the third quarter he couldn't play any more." The shooting guard, who has had four surgeries on that right knee, including one that caused him to miss the entire 2000-01 season, has not missed a game all season. "We'll wait and see what the doctor has to say," Frank said. "Kerry is very, very intent ... he wants to play every single game. But at the same time, we have to make sure, obviously, (to look) at his health. That's the priority." Full Article Are we back to 90s now? I havent seen this much injuries in a season since the early 90s!
Welcome to the Nets' mess this season. Maybe this would open up more opportunities for Lu. But we badly need Kerry for the playoffs. Maybe he can check out Chew as well. Chew's already done wonders for Kidd, Martin and Twin.
This season reminds me of the 1997-98 Nets. We had an extremely talented team that year. Sam Cassell, Kendall Gill, Keith Van Horn, KK, Jason Williams, Sherman Douglas etc But everyone kept getting injured And that team was never able to live up to the high expectations. I pray that isnt what is going to happen to this Nets team. Kerry has always had injury problems, some have been short term. And some have been extremely long like when he missed the entire 2000 season. So lets just hope he'll be back by the start of the playoffs. He is our best perimeter shooter when he decides to be aggressive.

Remember him? That guy use to be scary, knee injuries are always nagging and seeing as everything happens for a reason, this'll simply be a good opportunity for others to work harder, make new plays, have others play in his stead and things like that.

They have a complete team with a monster big man in Williams and a bunch of athletic big men and shooters. I just hope it doesn't happen this season.

I love the current Nets team with J.Kidd, K-Mart, Rj etc. But I use to live & die by that team. The future was so bright but injuries pretty much killed all dreams that team had after 98'.
man, this season is such a roller-coaster ride, it's worn me out. with injuries from day one, to the sale of the team, to byron being fired, to more injuries, to a winning streak, and once again back to injuries. they other guys will eventually be fine, wether it be this yr or next yr, but this knee injury with kk kinda worries me. we all know his history and if this turns out to be serious, this might be the end of the line. if this is bothering him for the entire playoffs and still into the summer, i wouldnt be suprised if rod went looking for a sg. i hope that kerry is fine because he has helped this franchise out, but i wouldnt be suprised if he gets screwed over and have to retire b/c of this. if kk is out, then brandon is going to need to play big for us..sigh i kinda wish it was summer in a way; i hate playing injured, those yrs were supposed to be over with. i know everyone plays with injuries, but it seems we have had more than normal
Kerry is one of a few players in a Nets uniform who'll help out clear some space inside with his outside shooting. When he gets hot, teams are forced to extend to him and it pretty much clears up space for KMart inside. What a time for it to come too. RJ is finally hitting his J's, Lu and Rogers are regaining back their shooting touch and with a healthy Kittles, we suddenly have a decent half court type of players. Oh well. I sure hope he'll be fine for the playoffs.

I hope Brandon steps up because he was a major scorer at Pepperdine. I figured when we drafted him in 2001, he would be a major offensive player. But his minutes have been etremely limited over the years. This is a chance for him to step up. And have an impact on this team. He is a free Agent this season. And if he wants to be a Net next year, this would be his time to step up and prove he has a future in the NBA.
Zoran is actually trying to play as a tall PG. He's not much of a shooter BUT I'm sure he'll be a happy recipiet of Kidd's passes if he'll try to play the 2. He's pretty decent but inconsistent and he throws the ball over too much. If there's a time wherein Brandon needs to prove that he can play, the time is now. I'm sure Frank realizes this and he'll give these guys some minutes to rest Kittles.

For the most part we have tried him at the backup PG. But I have a feeling with injury to Kittles, we are going to give him some 2 guard mintues again off the bench.
Kittles seems to be fine. He dropped by Chew to have it looked at but didn't have an X-Ray. Another bad news is ATrain. He's having some knee problems as well. Plus KMart is playing with a lot of pain. Darn.

He had good elevation on his jumper. And he cut to the basket very well also. You can tell K-mart is playing despite alot of pain. If you look at his face when he goes to the bench, his facial expressions says it all. He needs to sit out tonight's game. We dont need him in there bumping & banging trying to keep up with Jerimaine Oneal in a somewhat meanless game. We need to limit A-train as well. We definitely dint need his injury getting worse. He is our best scoring option at the center spot.

Good news for the Pacers trying to reach 60 wins, bad news for the Nets trying to reach 50 wins. Now would be a good time to gauge if Rogers can bang it up with JO. If he can at least hold his ground, then we can talk about the possibility of him starting at the PF spot.

Even tho Rodney didnt start they used that lineup we talked about before, with Rodney at the PF and K-mart at the center, alot last night. And it looked pretty good imo opinion. But thats against the Magic, so that isnt the best scale to measure against.

You saw that play when Rogers made a block and KMart got it and everyone touched the ball that led to an easy lay up by Kittles.
i know this is very negative thinking, but ima say it anyway. im just waiting for the big knockout punch when i hear that rj got injured in pract or in a game. everyone has been injured and missed time during the season except mr.improvement, rj. if i didnt hear the news about kk being hurt, i wouldnt be able to tell by his game last night. he played very well and didn't seem to be hurting, but now its a 2nd game of a back2back for us lets see how his injuries hold up. i dont see zoran being a 2g b/c of his lack of shooting, but i can see him playing it from time to time. when he was in with kidd and was at the 2,he wasnt really playing the 2, it was just two pgs out there. it probably gave him more confidence with handling the ball, b/c if he felt he was being pressured too much he could hand it off to kidd and get pressure off of him. he isnt having the best rookie yr, but he will learn and get better, unless rod goes after a pg in the offseason, then he has problems. if brandon doesnt play well during these final four games of the regular season (assuming he gets playing time), then i dont see him playing in the playoffs unless injuries cause coach frank to alter his bench rotation. if he comes through and plays SMART,then i see him getting playing time. he doesnt need to score 10pts or have big stat numbers, he needs to play smart. he needs to not make stupid, silly fouls and not make turnovers. maybe if its trying to get a fb started, then you might be able to live with that kind of to,b/c it happens when teams like us like to run. this can also be said for zoran, meaning playing smart. brandon most likely won't remain a net next yr, he might go to the bobcats b/c he would be seen as a guy who has been on a team that has been to the finals two years and could possibly act like a vet, in a strange way eventhough he didnt play.with nenad coming over and taking a bench spot, i dont see brandon or slay being apart of our future.
