    from DE to OLB

Rather than being stuck behins Strahan & Umeniyora on the depth chart, MK will switch to SLB. A position that had been lacking since the Arrington experiment failed.

Will he move back to DE after Strahan retires?

Yea this is older news but I think its a good move.

The thing is, I don;t see Strahan leaving the league without a ring. All the interviews I have seen ever since he lost that weight indicates he'll be around for another 3-4 years. Although the Tiki news of retirement was a bit shocking.

I knew it was a few weeks old & have been meaning to post it but have been burning the candle @ both ends and kept putting this off.

I want to become more familar w/ the G-men. After all, there is that game in late Oct in London.

It was when he announced it in the middle of last season. Evidently, Tiki and K Olbermann are getting along quite well preparing for the upcoming season as the new guys on the NBC pregame show.

I'll give you the realistic scoop.

We have talent but our defensive coordinators didn't know how to use it. Our corner backs play 7 yards off WR. Eli Manning is a good Quarterback, he just is scared for his life because our offensive line is horrible. If you give the guy sometime he'll beat you deep, bad. The guy has an arm. We run the ball well. LB and the secondary has been the Achilles of this team.

Kiwanuka was a lean DE, very quick and very smart. Some might say otherwise because of one play (Vince Young play) but looking back at the play he made a split second decision which you can't really blame him for. If he plowed VY down like DE ends used to he would have gotten a 15 yard flag. The problem was that VY arm looked like he threw the ball.

Yea, the Tiki situation was a bit deflating. The players already had a clue he was leaving. I just think the media over reacted and that had an effect on the mental health of the franchise. Players started getting bombarded on top of the usual NY media and some of them didn't handle themselves that well.

Wow; The G men almost sound like a carbon copy of the phins. The exception being the micro-managing dic... tator that was in S Florida is now back in the SEC.

I can only imagine how harsh the NY media is. I bet the Yankees gobble up most of the press' attention. They further IMO they go; the less the spotlight is on the Giants.

I do recall the VY & Kiwanuka highlight thinking superstar call which would be okay if it were the NBA. Nothing IMO beats a good slobber knockin decleater. It does seem like alot of rules handicap the defense.

Does Kiwi have any experience playing standing up? Because it sounds like a good idea but if it's new to him, it may take a while for him to transition into the OLB position.

^ my memory says no but I believe that Kiwanuka is one of those guys that barely played football in HS and had that natural athletic ability. People have said that they worry he won;t be able to handle playing pass protections. Overall I think he is going to be the blitz orientated LB out of the three. There has been some experiments that have worked out in this fashion. So I'm optimistic......
