At least McIlrath will get some playing time now. This team is so weak and thin right now. Lundqvist letting in softies isn't going to hop either.

And the other disturbing trend is he plays a lot worse when he comes back from injury. Would have rather this happened to boyle or girardi...oh wait,he already has a hole in his knee. Also watching the hit klein took which I didn't think was that bad, and then the wrap already around it when he took his glove off leads me to believe that thumb was already damaged and explains why he can't keep anyone out of the crease. The next question then imo is WTF is av playing both he and girardi with injuries with a healthy mcilreith in the press box. Between his use dylan, glass and yandle, keeping arniel on the staff and not trying anything new with the personnel here like putting other people on the pp and pk AV is coaching like he wants to be fired and if we somehow miss the playoffs he probably will be.

It's the hockey Gods are punishing AV for his incredible stupidity with McIlrath, giving the team injuries to play a player who should be playing.

We're pretty much anally fu%#!ked on defense for the next 3y with Staal/G not very tradeable and Skjei pretty much the only sure prospect though Dumps guy Graves sounds like he could be pretty good.

It looked to me like Klein got slashed on the hand before he went down, Joe said he went down awkwardly, either way the thumb is fractured. Hate for that to be the reason that McIlrath is out there but I believe Dylan has already proven himself. I agree 100% about AV's playing guys who are hurt Mel, remembered reading this article when the Rangers hired AV. I liked the hire but was wondering why Vancouver got rid of a guy who had won so prolifically, there are some interesting parallels
