<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Utah Jazz GM Kevin O'Connor told ESPN Insider Chad Ford that the Jazz and Kenyon Martin mutally agreed to cancel his free agent visit to Utah on Thursday. </div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"We just decided in was in both of our interest to go in a different direction," O'Connor told Ford. </div> Kmart/Utah visit off. espn.com reports i doubt the jazz were a serious team kenyon would go too. i think utah canceled it b/c they didn't want to be used to help get kmart a lot of money when kmart realistically would not want to play there. reports are now that jazz are going after boozer instead of kmart. if kenyon wants the challenge of playing in the west, he would go to denver because they have a brighter upside. so thats one down and two to go. i also don't think atlanta is a serious contender. it is pretty much denver vs new jersey.
Well things are looking good for us. Denver's primary target is Manu so it will all depend on SA. Besides, this is what I got from Insider Chad Ford: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Nuggets GM Kiki Vandeweghe told Insider's Chad Ford, "I'd like to think we'll be making someone an offer soon." Vandeweghe also said he told Kenyon Martin he should return to New Jersey if that's where he'll be happy.</div> We all know that KMart wants to stay in NJ right?
Wow. I expected to come here and hear that he signed with them because the thread said on the main page, "Kmart/Jazz mutally agree..." Haha, made me nervous.
i saw that on other msg boards too trust. kiki and kmart are friends then businessmen is how i see thier relationship. we all know when kmart had his injuries in college and his first year here in NJ that he talked to kiki for support and guidence. so i think when it comes down to it, kiki knows he love nj. he knows that kmart has a chance to continue to grow into a superstar here and that kmart has a shot at winning an nba title here. im sure kiki would love to have kmart on his team, but i think he is also thinking that he doesn't want kmart to regret his decision and make this FA hard on kmart. he doesnt want kmart to have to choose btw a place he is loving in new jersey and a buddy of his in denver. im curious if they are even going to make him and offer incase for some STRANGE reason we don't resign him or kiki make and offer to help kmart get a max deal, not like he needs kiki's help but ya never know. so it seems that our biggest threat, denver, has pulled out of the running along with Utah(not a serious threat). now the last stop is atlanta, where i don't see them as a serious threat too. now it all depends of if atlanta makes an offer, which i think they should/will how much that offer will be. i expect whatever the highest bid for kmart is,that we will match that and add to that offer to show that we are not just match the offer(which might be lower than kmart is hoping for) but that we really appreciate him and give him confidence in us. iknow whatever he is offered is going to be a lot, but he wants max and if he doesnt get anything close to max and we just match the highest offer straight up, then he might feel underappreaciated. so i think we should match and raise the offer a bit. of course with the new ownership and the reports of wanting to save i dont expect us to really raise it. either way, this looks EXREMELY good for kmart staying in NJ, it is just a matter of how much we have to pay him now.
After playing & staying in the fast paced tri-state area of New York & New Jersey a place like Utah would seem very boring to a guy like K-Mart. K-mart is known to chill at new york hot spots from tme to time like Jay-z's 40/40 club etc. Those type of hot sot just dont exit in alot of other places. The Tri-state fans & Media(untill he decides to walk lol) for the most part love k-mart. And when you are on the good sde of the people in the tri-state there is no better place to play. And I think all thosethings are going to factorinto the return of K-mart.
