I didn't see why we couldn't sign Butler. Isiah is putting too much stock in Curry and James. I hope he has some other plan. Or maybe not...
Oh well. It's not really a big deal to be honest although I would have preferred if Isiah Thomas kept him. He would have been a third stringer if Jerome James came in semi-fit. No real big loss. Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.
Yeah, I didn't see any room for Butler on this team with all of the centers they already have. It was better for Jackie Butler and the Spurs, since they lost Nazr Mohammed, and that Jackie needed a better team to be around.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting FilSpursFan:</div><div class="quote_post">Thank you Isaiah!</div> I wouldnt be too pleased if I were you. Jackie Butler isnt a starter in this league. And as much as you may have disliked Rasho and Nazr they are definetely better players. Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.
/m Maybe it has to do with the fact that 7 million dollars is really 14 to them. With James, Rose and Curry locked in for a while, Taylor this year, plus the young bigs in Frye and Lee, there wasn't really a point in giving Butler that kind of guranteed money that's going to cost the knicks 14 mill. And it seems like he likes Frye, Curry and Lee, plus with James and Rose likely going nowhere, didn't really make sense to me. Although most of the moves Isiah makes don't really make sense.
^^^ True that, I want to see that Jerome James behind the back crossover again, haha, that was actually pretty sweet. The announcer was so suprised "OH MY, guard-like skills!" HAHAHA!!!
Plus Dolan would have to pay the extra 7 million from his own pockets. Butler just has potential, but he's far from starting material in this league.

He will pick be working alongside Timmy and that is probably the best teacher he can have.

Plus he will be playing for a championship-caliber team in the Western Conference which is home to most of the league's best big men such as Garnett, Yao, Gasol, Amare, and Nowtizki to name a few. Butler isn't ready to go up against that type of competition yet. Let's remember he's an undrafted rookie and the 55 games he played last year was basically his rookie year. Yes, he definitely shows promise, but don't expect him to put up great stats right away.
