Without Gasol we have a much better chance of winning, though we shouldn't underestimate any team being in the position we're in.

It's okay, you can underestimate the Grizzlies. Taking away Battier from theirr roster is bad enough, but then taking away their only legit post players, Pau Gasol and Lorenzen Wright, just completely cripples them.

Rudy Gay could be great, but now he's just a rookie, so you probably don't have to worry about him. He'll be one of those guys this year who gets a decent points per game average because he takes a lot of shots but winds up shooting barely over 30% from the field and being really inconsistent in the process.

The one player I'd watch out for though is Mike Miller. Coach Fratello doesn't like him and tries to restrict his playing time, but there's not much difference in his game and Kobe's - seriously. He's very dangerous and could have a breakout All-Star type year for the Grizz.

I want to see how much Frye has improved, last year people were excited about him, but I never really got to see him.

    Mike Miller is money!

For anyone who thought I was crazy in saying that.. Miller has just nailed three straight three pointers and is the game's leading scorer so far. [IMG]

I know I just saw that, he's down right dirty, same spot every time. When is Rudy Gay coming in?

    Edit: NVM, just checked in.....

We need to put a body on Miller. He's killing from three.

At least we've regained some poise, but we need to be more focused and not turn the rock over so much.

Q is looking really good, Frye is struggling but he'll get his stuff.

Don't worry, coach Fratello put the body on him. I wasn't kidding when I said he 'doesn't like him and tries to restrict his playing time,' because that's exactly what's happening here. How can you bench your only consistent offensive option six minutes into action? Can't say it was unexpected though.

Isn't there a no-complaining rule in the NBA now? I've seen Francis, Warrick, Tsakalidis, and Lee doing a lot of complaining so far.

Anyone else notice how Tsakalidis has gotten four or five point blank layup opportunities and has missed all but one of them? *sigh*

This is what happens when you let your franchise player participate in international play. Or like Bill Simmons says, this is why you never see a corporation loaning out a 100 million dollar asset to a competitor.

Robinson, Francis, Marbury, Crawford all on the floor at the same time.

    Wow.

That just shouldn't happen. Even more f'ed up - Brian Cardinal seeing playing time. [IMG]

... Mike Miller comes into the game... Mike Miller scores on his two attempts... Mike Miller heads back to the bench...

Did they by chance show the ceremony with Gasol in New York? Between quarters, Gasol was honored with a Rolex for his play for the Spanish national team. How random.

Also, someone please tell Fratello to stop running the side screen and roll. The Knicks are all over it.

    ^Nope, they skipped that part.

How 'bout Curry though. A little sloppy, but showing good improvements from last season with almost a double-double in the first half.

Did the big, sloppy chump learn?

EDIT: Mike Miller has been flopping like a mofo...

It's called taking a charge. It's good defense. I understand as a New York fan this is a new concept to you, but it's actually quite common in the NBA.

Crawford looks like he did 2 years ago. Just chucking up shots along with Francis. I like how the knicks are playing D and they're playing with enthusiasm. Curry, Q, and Marbury are the players that stood out the most.

I saw that when I was watching the game, seemed pretty out of nowhere.

I haven't watched much but how has Gay looked?

Crawford should've pulled up to the free throw line at least. Why did he jack up a 3?

Oh well, OT on opening night. Just like last year against the Celtics. Hopefully we get the W this time.
