<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Knicks scoring leader Allan Houston had surgery on his right knee and is expected to be ready for training camp.

The shooting guard had arthroscopic surgery Tuesday at Beth Israel Singer Division, the team said. He is expected to be on crutches for six weeks.

Dr. Norman Scott, the team physician, said the operation was to remove loose cartilage and stimulate growth.

Houston averaged a career-high 22.5 points last season in which he had two 50-point games. He has missed just 10 games since joining the Knicks in 1996.
