Thomas has strong ties to Damon Stoudamire and Jamaal Tinsley. It wouldn't be surprising to see either guard, or Nick Van Exel, in New York by February's trade deadline.

I was thinking that Stoudamire, NVE and Jason Terry would be the most likely. Isiah likes points that play like he did, able to dish but also with a bit of a scorer's mentality, something Tinsley always seemed to lack.

I think its quite possible that either Thomas or McDyess could be used to lure one of those guys to the Big Apple.

At first I wouldn't even consider the Stoudamire idea due to the fact that Portland has an abundance of big men. However after looking into the salaries it might just work. Shawn Kemp, Rasheed Wallace, and Dale Davis all come off of the books next year. Adding someone like a Kurt Thomas, could be a possibility if they can get a guarentee that he would not opt out of his contract next year. Also, if a Rasheed move is done before February, they could look to get a decent PG for him. That PG could take Stoudamire's place.

NVE is a question mark. The Warriors are flirting with the idea of adding Wallace right now. If they add Wallace, I do not think they will look to move NVE as him and Wallace could really be a nice tandem in the West.

I think Jason Terry is going to stay in Atlanta. He brings energy and excitement to that team and is a player that Atlanta fans actually like to watch. Add to that Brandon is injured, so I do not think they would be willing to part with him.

I thought TB retired? I know they are stuck with his contract but for how long.

But back on topic, I really do look to see NVE in a Knicks uniform before All-Star break.

Well Terrell Brandon is currently on the Injured List according to nba.com : http://www.nba.com/hawks/roster/

As for his contract, it comes off the books after next season.

Here is an interesting scenario that would get the Knicks a PG:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jan. 4 is the first day that players can be signed to 10-day contracts, an option Paxson might pursue if the injuries linger and a roster spot is granted.

Also don't be surprised if Paxson discusses possible deals with former rival and new Knicks President Isiah Thomas. The Knicks long have coveted Crawford, but former general manager Scott Layden consistently offered lopsided trades. With Thomas in charge, expiring salaries like Charlie Ward and Antonio McDyess could be attractive to the Bulls in the right package.
