The New York Knicks made much news this past offseason in their pursuit of Lebron James but how will not signing him effect their upcoming season?

The Knicks reportedly pulling out all the stops hoping to nab the 7-time all star and global icon, however it was not meant to be as James signed with the Miami Heat.

The New York Knicks were able to make a splash in the market by getting Amare Stoudemire to sign a 5-year $100 million dollar deal. Stoudemire gives the Knicks its first all star low post player since Patrick Ewing left the team.

Amare Stoudemire signs for the KnicksAlso the Knicks traded David Lee to the Golden State Warriors for Anthony Randolph, Ronny Turiaf, and Kelenna Azubuike. This may turn out to be a great deal for the Knicks as Randolph possesses a huge upside as an athletic power forward in the mold of a Marcus Camby. Turiaf is a fighter on the boards, and will help Stoudemire with some of the dirty work.

Before making any basketball bets, keep in mind that with all of the changes that the Knicks made in the offseason, they will hard pressed to win the Atlantic division. But because the Boston Celtics are the only elite team in the division, second place for the Knicks is no means out of the question. The key will be how Stoudemire and the players who came over in the Warriors trade mesh with coach Mike D'Antoni's style of uptempo play.
