<div class="quote_poster">Quoting :</div><div class="quote_post">Don Chaney's job security is as bad as the Knicks' record, neither of which improved last night. The Knicks' 105-99 overtime loss to Vince Carter and the Toronto Raptors dropped their record to 9-18 heading into tonight's home game against the lowly Atlanta Hawks. According to a source close to the team, the Knicks have had internal discussions over the past several days about making a coaching change.</div> Full Story
I don't know, even when they sucked last year they backed up Chaney since they knew that they'd be making player changes. Unless they're done(and judging from their point guard situation I'd say they aren't) I don't think Chaney will be going anywhere.
unless a very good coach was availible, and i doubt there is now because its midseason, i wouldnt make this switch. the only switch i would make if i was the knicks would be to FIRE LAYDEN
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting nyckid4lyfe04:</div><div class="quote_post">unless a very good coach was availible</div> Maybe they're thinking of Doc Rivers. Doc played in New York for several seasons as their starting pg, and now that he's out of work in Orlando, they could be interested in him. Of course, he himself said that he won't get back into coaching at this point in the season. But next year Chaney could find himself without a job.
I doubt they will let Chaney go. Layden and the rest of Knicks management need a scapegoat. If they bring in a better coach, they are afraid that people will start looking at them when they try to figure out what's wrong with the Knicks. The funny thing is, the New York fans and media is smart enough to already know that the problem is upper management. But somehow, the suits at MSG are immune to it and think that we think Chaney is the problem. The joke is on them. I'm editing this post because I was wrong. Layden has become the scapegoat as he will be fired today. The Knicks will hold a 3:30 press conference to announce it. I remain hopeful that we will get someone with a better philosophy than to bring in people from Utah.
