New York Times - The New York Knicks are negotiating a buyout of the final year of Jalen Rose?s contract, which calls for him to earn $16.9 million, the New York Times has confirmed. The precise terms of the buyout are not known.?We?re close to reaching an agreement, and my expectation is it could be done as early as tomorrow,? Arn Tellem, Rose?s agent, said last night.Rose, 33, became expendable after the Knicks signed small forward Jared Jeffries over the summer. They also drafted small forward Renaldo Balkman with the 20th pick.http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/429...ntract_of_rose/

Good move by the Knicks. Rose is getting old, and he really didn't want to be there. He doesn't fit with the Knicks now that Jeffries is there, Q-Rich has bulked up, and Balkman is showing some promise. He was just another overpaid wing on the Knicks depth chart.

As for Jalen Rose, I don't know where he is going to go. I was thinking maybe a team like Denver wouldn't mind him, maybe Seattle for a decent 6th man and wing depth, or maybe Miami could use him off the bench a little bit.

peace jay. now if he signs with someone else does that mean that we still owe him $16.9 mil? I hope isiah doesn't go out and get another overpaid vet. he's made some pretty good moves tho recently like signing cato and peacin out mo taylor and jalen rose.

man I would love for the Spurs to sign him. We need some offense at the SF position and I think he would be a good fit. I dont think the Spurs would want to sign him though. They are looking to make their team younger and he isnt really that what so ever.

One of my friends just told me Miami might be interested in Jalen, any truth to this? If there's one thing he can do, it's score.

Dude that was preseason.Mardy Collins and Renaldo Balkman need playing time, I understand the move. But why did Isiah trade Antonio Davis for Jalen. He wouldn't have to pay for Jalens contract this year. Antonio Davis had an expiring contract. Wait, I know why Isiah did that. It's one of those "Isiah being Isiah" things.I know that he would want to go to a contender. Don't be surprised if Detroit looks at him. Dupree and Delfino probably aren't reliable down the stretch, and Jalen could add some punch on offense and some decent defense.
