I remember last year Jerry West was interested in retrieving Kobe from LA. Well if he is still interested, now's his chance. I know he was the one to bring Kobe to LA and basically turned the little boy into a man and Kobe respects this. I'm not a follower of the Grizzlies that much nor do I live in Memphis but does anyone know if there is a chance of this still happening? A Grizzlies uni would look much nicer with Kobe in it. I may even start liking him because he plays for someone other than that organization.
Who knows what could really happen, Jerry West has done a great job with the Grizzlies so far. I donno if Kobe would land a deal with them though, I think either Kobe or Shaq will still be in LA by next season.
No chance on Kobe going to Memphis. Although we all know Jerry West would love to have Kobe, they don't have enough money to offer him. They won't be able to offer half as much as the Lakers will, and the Lakers have said they would let Kobe walk before doing a sign and trade for him. I like the Grizzlies, but I'll tell you right now that Kobe isn't going to Memphis.
West work is to find the next Kobe, but hes now going for Damp, what can make a 50 wins team beeing the WORST defense rebounder on the league with Dampier?
^ I have no idea what he just said. That's fine though. A) I don't like Kobe. He'll never be a Grizzlie. The Lakers have said they're not trading him, and if they'll trade every franchise player they've ever had (Divac and EJ come to mind) to accomodate him, as well as put Shaquille O'Neal on the trading block, I tend to think that they'll keep him. (Plus Kupchack is an idiot, and that helps.) Why do the Grizzlies always come up in these rumours? (Though, truth be told, I don't mind the Shaq one.)
well my english is not good, I just was saying that West's concerns should be findind underrated talent and a solid center coz we were the worst defensive rebounders last season.
Kobe is not coming to Mempho,Because the LAKERS want let him go and Kobe wanted his own team, now he has it.Shaq wants out of LA,AND he may wind up with the Mavs, who knows. I wouldnt want Shaq to go to any team in the west simply because Memphis is in the west. As for the reason why Memphis keeps getting brought up,does Any one remember the LA Jerry West Connection????
First off, I believe that if Jerry West wants Kobe Bryant then he'll get Kobe Bryant. I wouldn't put it past West to do everything in his powers to clear the necessary cap space. I think that it's rather unlikely it will happen, but I've learned to never rule out anything as a possibility when West is your GM. There's also the possibility of Jerry West working out a deal with another team for a sign-and-trade for Kobe Bryant.

Kobe wasn't even on the team, Divac was traded for Kobe if u recall.....Jones was traded in part because they were looking for a spot up 3pt threat to "accommadate" Shaq...at the time, Jones wasn't that....he was in trade rumors for Mitch richmond long before Kobe ever made any sort of impact...they didn't get richomnd (via trade) but a couple seasons later they got Rice....they did get richmond when he was finally washed up lol
No, I heard that he offerd a trade for TMac. I tought the players in the deal he offered were better than the one that the Rockets are making. I can't remeber who he offered though, and I can't go back to the site. So, I'm not sure who they offered.

I don't know why they would want Kobe. Yeah, he is good an all, but he can't get along with the best player in the game. He goes and rapes some girl in the off season. He is a outcast in the locker room. This doesn't seem to be the type of person I would want to bring to a team no matter how good he may be.

Kobe is one of the three best players in the NBA, so I don't care if he is a good teammate or not. He's also a proven winner - something that other NBA greats like Garnett and McGrady can't say for themselves. I don't understand most of your points either. First of all, what do you mean that he can't get along with the best player in the game? Are you talking about Jordan? I hope you are, because Shaq is nowhere near the best player in the game. Anyway, that's another arguement for another day. Shaq's fued with Kobe is irrelevant. Kobe wanted the Lakers to be 'his' team and not Shaq's. He won't run into any problems of that nature in Memphis. The ball will be going through Kobe almost every trip down the floor. Second of all, we don't know if he raped the girl or not yet. We have to wait until his trial over, but right now all we know is that the worst thing he did that night was cheat on his wife; and I may be completely wrong, but I think you'd be surprised if you knew how many NBA players cheat on their wives and girlfriends. Finally, him being an outcast in the lockerroom is all the more reason for him to come to Memphis. Just because he doesn't get along with his Los Angeles teammates does not mean that he will not get along with his Memphis teammates. You don't think twice about acquiring a player the caliber of Kobe Bryant.
Jerry West has said that 'he doesn't want to trade his whole team for Shaq'. He'd have to trade more talent to get Kobe. Besides, the Lakers have met Kobe's demands (yeah, kick the Zen Master to the curb and tell Big Aristotle that it isn't his team anymore) so he'll be stuck as a Laker. His number will go up, and he and TMac have switched roles. TMac will now be playing the part of 'Serious Contender' and Kobe will win the scoring titles...
Kobe is an outcast. And we saw how successful teams are when the ball goes through Kobe every time down the floor. <strike>****</strike> Kobe Bryant, seriously.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ezra:</div><div class="quote_post">Kobe is an outcast. Two championships and three final appearanes aren't successful?
Three championships and four finals appearances, but that was Shaq. Shaq was MVP all of those years, as well as finals MVP. This year was Kobe's. Kobe took over in the finals this year, and it got them eliminated in five games. <strike>****</strike> Kobe. I don't want him on my team. He's a primaddona, and a headcase. Again, <strike>****</strike> Kobe Bryant. Next year we'll see. Depending on what happens to the Lakers, I'm looking forward to Kobe doing a lot of losing. It'll be like the Magic last year, because Kobe will realize what guys like Paul Pierce and Tracy McGrady have to go through, and why he shouldn't have <strike>******</strike> it all up.

Anywayz we all know he did rape that girl. Now the question is will be be able to pay himself out of going to jail. An we all know he will. U know an everyone else does that he is going to get off even if he did it. OJ can kill people Kobe can rape a girl an get away wit it also. Your correct you shouldn't think twice. U should think 5 times before u even think about going near this guy.

If there is any evidence of it then yes we would all know, but there obviously isn't in this case. So explain, how the hell do we "all know he did rape that girl"? The trial hasn't even started yet and some outsider like you thinks he knows everything, that's rediculous. I could care less if you would want Kobe on a team or not, but don't talk like you know s**t that happened in other peoples lives, cause you don't.
