Kobe's in the house tonight, probably cause he'll be in NY since they're playing the New Jersey Nets tomorrow. I'll watch it and let you guys know what Kobe talks about. You know Stephen A, he asks the best questions, I wouldn't be surprised if he brings up the Arenas situation so we can finally nip this thing in the bud.

His interview with Iverson was a joke.
Guys, I just finished watching the show, he covered a few stuff, HE DID cover the Gilbert Arenas stuff, when Stephen A. showed him what Gilbert said he said that was the first time he saw that (don't know if he's telling the truth) And that the reporter who asked Kobe the question paraphrased it wrong and that Kobe was actually giving Gilbert props and that he likes him and his game. I gotta go to a club with my girl right now, so I won't be able to touch on everything right now, but when I get back I'll have a full recap tonight! Stay tuned....
DFull Recap: When Kobe comes out, Stephen A. brings up the AI trade to Denver. Kobe says he is HAPPY for AI because that's where he wanted to go. He says he feels bad for the fans of Philidelphia. He says AI and Melo will have no problem coexisting and they're gonna be a BIG problem in the West. Stephen A. apologizes for sleeping on the Lakers this year, he didn't expect the Lakers to look as good as they are. Kobe says this year they're continuing where they left off, they're building better chemistry, and are gel'ing as a team. Kobe says he loved Mitch Kupchak's moves. From Andrew Bynum to Vlad Radman, Mo Evans, and Jordan Farmar. Kobe says he's talked to Rip over summer and he said that Kobe would love Mo Evans because of how hard he plays.
Kobe says this past summer Kobe and Phil talked very often, compared to other years. He says if they weren't talking on the phone, they were texting. Kobe says on nights that he scores 6/19, it's not about how he played, it's about how everyone else played. He wants to make sure Luke, Kwame, Lamar, and the rest of the guys are playing well. Kobe says the knee is feeling great. Stephen A. asks Kobe why doesn't he call the NBA office and ask them to stop putting the Lakers against the Heat on Christmas day since him and Shaq have squashed their beef. Kobe said he could have swore the NBA would've gave him Christmas day off this year, and he was shocked when he saw the schedule. Gilbert Arenas. Stephen A. brings up that he was shocked Gilbert dropped 60 on the Lakers, and some of those shots were on Kobe. Stephen A. shows on the screen what Kobe said about Gilbert, then right after shows what Gilbert said to Kobe. Kobe starts laughing and says "You know what's funny, that's the first time I've seen that" Kobe says the question was paraphrased wrong and he was actually Gilbert props. He says Gilbert has "Grande Cajones" He says he likes Gilbert a lot and he looks at the camera and says "Gil, Congratulations....I'm not....shadow boxing your 60." With a big smile on his face. Stephen A. says he hopes that's the last time that happens, and Kobe says that's the plan. And he also asks about the next game between the Lakers and Wizards. Kobe also talks about the number change to 24, same stuff we've heard before. "Why Not" "It's just a number" "24 means seizing the day" Finally, some how they got into Kobe hosting the Quite Frankly show and Stephen A. says Shaq has done it before, and if Kobe wants to do it. Kobe says "Oh Shaq did it?" And he goes actually, if I do it then there's gonna be a competition on who hosted the show better, etc. And he wants nothing to do with it (This is all while laughing and stuff) It was pretty funny.

<div class="quote_poster">AllNet Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Is there a video clip of this?</div> Well I don't have a clip but I can say that the interview went exactly as ill described (I saw it yesterday). Lol pointless post but whatever...
Stephen A. brings up the new ball, the no tolerance rule, and the brawl at MSG. Kobe says he prefers the old ball by far, and that he never liked the new ball but if the new ball is what they gotta use, he'll use it. He said if people can't make a jumpshot with the new ball, then the problem is they probably just can't shoot. He says the new ball affects handling the most. He says Jordan Farmar got paper cuts on his fingers from the new ball. Kobe talks about how he was in Harlem yesterday with Stephon Marbury and several other guys of the NBA and they had a charitable Feed The Children where they fed 10,000 families. They talk about the brawl. Kobe says he feels bad for Carmelo and he was in a bad spot and he hopes people don't judge him by this. Also says that he's had a great summer and what he's done for the USA team, etc.
I also watched the interview, Illmatic covered most of it. The only parts he left out were Kobe talked about how as he's gotten older and played more seasons he realizes how important it is for him to give back to the game. He has a better understanding of the NBA and the importance of globalizing the sport. He has been mentoring his teammates and wants them to succeed so the NBA can continue to thrive as a sport. He said in his first few seasons he didn't have an appreciation of how influential the sport can be and it's up him and some of the other veterans in the league to pass the torch and teach the younger generation of players to respect the game. Another subject he talked about with a lot of excitement is playing in the 2008 Olympics. He said he's really looking forward to playing with LeBron, Wade, Paul, and Melo to bring the Gold back to the US. He spent the summer studying the opponents Team USA faced and said he wants to lock down the competition defensively. He mentioned Team USA didn't take advantage of their athleticism defensively during the summer.
Doh, I accidentally deleted a chunk of the interview trying to trim down the posts. I think what I deleted was: Stephen A. brings up Lamar Odom and says how he was a major part of their success this year. Kobe says Lamar is probably the major catalyst on this team and that Lamar has more responsiblities than Kobe. They also talk about Game 7 of last year. Kobe says that series helped them grow as a team, and gave them some confidence. About not attempting shots in the 2nd half he said the whole team had to be involved and Kobe could have been like "Well I did my part, I scored my 50" But that's not what he's about, he's all about winning. Kobe says it's ludicrous for people to question his competetive spirit. They also talked about PHil Jackson and Kobe praised Phil to the max. He says it may look like Phil just sits on the bench and doesn't do anything, but that's not the case at all. Kobe says Phil is an amazing coach and he has taught him so much, especially on how to be a Leader. I think that's all that I deleted.
I saw the show too and Shape and Ilmatic did a great job on covering everything. I'm loving that EVERYONE is finally recognizing Kobe as the best player in the NBA. I mean everyone on TV says is, journalists, sports shows, websites, just about everyone has finally conceded that he's the best. Anyhow- Stephen A. is funny but I hate his interviews, he's so arrogant and likes to hear himself talk that he talks more than the person he's interviewing...Kobe was laughing at him at times cause he's was like "wow, I can't beleive this guy"

I dunno I like Stephen A. a lot, the only negative I think you could say about him his voice gets annoying, but I love his interviews. His interview with AI, you have to remember, it was an uncomfortable time. The interview did not have the same feeling as the Kobe interivew, it was on a whole 'nother tip. AI was so dead in that interview, which is understandable. I thought Stephen A. did a fine job with the AI Interview. With the Kobe interview, I thought it was great, he says stuff that WE AS THE FANS would say. He loves Kobe so much and he lets it be known. I have to disagree with you and say that I think KObe loves doin Stephen A. interviews and wasn't annoyed by him at all.
