In the lakers past game... vs toronto kobe put up 31 pts 11 rebs 7 assists. And that is because he was the guy who was assigned to initiate the offence and take care of the rock... this is the same reason why LBJ averages stats like 28pts 6.5 rebs 6.5 assists a game. at 1st i was amazed with the all around stats but know i understand that it's not that big of a deal... let's see if kobe can exactly match lebrons stats in pts rebs and assists now that mamba has the same role with the lakers as the king has with the mavs.

Has nothing to do with just controlling the offence. Kobe can dominate the ball as much as he likes. I don't see Lebron loosing the tag of best swingman anytime soon. Lebron is playing like the best player in the NBA and to me he truely is the best player in the game right now and I don't really see It changing.

That's like me saying Kobe scoring 81 isn't a big deal, because LeBron can score 81 if he shot 46 times.
^ Guess he's one of those Kobe fanboys who's in denial. Just so you understand Kobe23, LeBron will be better than Kobe very soon.

He isn't a selfish player who cares about stats. He is all about trying to get the wins for his team. I don't see how I'm hating, Lebron James is the best player in the NBA right now. You only have to see his impact and the way he goes about his business. He may not have the best team but in terms of the best player? no other player makes the plays he does on the basketball court. He is also the guy everyone would build a franchise around.

How dare you strip Kobe of that title! Kobe is the best wing in the league, even comin off surgery. Lebron may have better numbers, but he isn't touching Kobe. No other wing in the league can dominate a game like Kobe Bryant.
Dude, he was facing Toronto. It was a nice game but he wasn't exactly dominant and it wasn't an astonishing performance. Kobe's still nowhere near as versatile as Lebron.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">No other wing in the league can dominate a game like Kobe Bryant. </div> If you want to speak on "domination" on the wing I think Bron is a lot more to handle then Kobe if you look at their all around games offensively.

Lebron has continued on from last season and through the playoffs. This "little spurt" is only going to get bigger. You need to come to terms that Kobe's label as the best shooting guard/swingman is coming to an end. He is only getting older while Lebron is the young stud who is contining to improve each game he plays. Only thing really Kobe does better is play defence and even that isn't that big a difference. Kobe has always been overrated defensively. Lebron has become a better scorer, rebounder and is certainly a better passer. Hell Lebron is shooting so well thus far as well. Oh and BTW..."strip Kobe of that title" Kobe has never been the best player in the league. He's been top 3-5 but never been the best. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It seems when Kobe steps down from the "take every shot role" you gave him, his team falters. Kobe decided to pass the ball and his team-mates delivered. Lebron has better numbers and his impact is far bigger than Kobe's. No other wing player can dominate like Kobe? PLEASE...Lebron and Wade both dominate game more than Kobe has the past few years. And dominating a game doesn't just mean scoring the ball. Which all Kobe seems to be doing now.
you said it(THE DREAM)In the offensive side, not the both sides of the floor.ah,and a lot of those Lebron points come on fastbreaks and weak side passes,i think Lebron is great anyway but is not more complete than Kobe Bryant.
so when he scores on the fastbreak that doesn't count?...and yes Kobe is the better defender, but he doesn't "dominate" defensively
Oh god. I hate when Kobe fans start these kinds of threads. It makes people think all Kobe/Laker fans believe in these things. It's not a big deal dude that he got those numbers, stop making it bigger than what it is. Like ****, anyone could do well against the Raptors
ahhh i remember the good ole' days.. Some dude made a thread stating Kobe was the best player since Jordan after the Lakers beat the Magic in comeback fashion. That guy was crucified and never heard of on JBB again..
