The last four times I've seen the Lakers play (Warriors, Clippers, Phoenix, and Phoenix), Kobe has played like a monster in the first half, before totally running out of gas in the fourth, and sometimes even the third quarter. What is with this? He's usually so indefatigable and yet is now struggling to score in nearly every fourth quarter, as was witnessed today. Or maybe it just happened to be the particular games of his I watched. Perhaps some of you Lakers fans can clue me in on this.
Kobe Bryant is the greatest basketball player on this planet! Running out of gas? Why cause he couldn't carry his team for more than 40 minutes?
Jesus Christ you Kobe fans overreact. I'm not debating on whether he's the greatest basketball player on the planet, I'm asking your opinions on the fact that he's getting tired in the fourth quarters.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Why cause he couldn't carry his team for more than 40 minutes?</div>So you agree with me then.
I don't think it's running out of gas, I just think it's not hitting those ridiculous shots that no human on earth could make consistently throughout the game....Kobe needs to settle down..If he can get a decent shot, fine take it...If he's doubled, then for all means man...pass it off...You've got to get a higher percentaged shot, and more importantly get your teammates involved.
Two of the games you mentioned are not good examples of this. In that Warriors game, he had a good first quarter, and settled down after scoring like 16 in the first 8 minutes. In the first Phoenix game, he sucked the whole game. He was like 7/26. He didn't slow down because he never sped up. Against Phoenix and the Clippers, yeah, he stopped hitting shots. It's bound to happen. I can name 10 exceptions this season to this notion that he "runs out of gas". Hell against Seattle just a week ago he was 18/25 and never missed a beat.
