<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">SALT LAKE CITY -- When Kobe Bryant becomes a free agent this summer, he says the Utah Jazz can go ahead and look elsewhere.

After a comedy routine that made fun of former Jazz great Karl Malone and Bryant at a Lakers game in January, he isn't interested joining the Jazz.

"I was more concerned about Karl, not so much what they said about me," Bryant said Monday, when the Lakers lost to the Jazz 88-83. "How they're treating him -- that's his old team and they do that?"

The skit, which the Jazz intended as a joke but ended up apologizing for several times, had a caller imitating Malone's voice during the Jan. 24 game, which Malone did not attend.</div>

i agree with kobe on this one. malone took utah in to the finals and this is what they're returning in favor. i'm not saying all utah fans hate malone but it seems like it's getting more. they should hate their management for playing the skit, not malone. malone got mad because of the skit and by adding kobe into it. kobe thinks that if he signs with utah, they won't respect him for what he did on the team. utah's management is so low, no class at all!

if you're a true utah fan, know how to respect your player(old or new).

I guess that phone call cost them more than money. Utah wont be that worried by it though, if a team signs him that isn't the LA Lakers, they would have to throw heaps at him because every team would want him. There are other free agents, and Utah has proven it doesn't need a superstar to suceed, and I think they play better as a team, not an offense centered around one great player. For those who don't know, Utah don't always try to get AK47 the ball on offense.

WTF? they aren't successful. they are the last team in midwest division and their standing is 32-32(as of now). since they lost malone and stockton, they went down. you should know this, you're a utah fan

To be honest....to see the way that the Jazz insult their former players in general, I don't see anyone how isn't desperate get with the jazz.

This is sort of on topic but....The Utah Jazz Bear has to pay half of his 7000 fine from the NBA out of his own salary? WTF The owners approved it, they should bite the bullet.

Who wouldn't be bitter? He basicly said he has felt like a Laker all his life. Is that not disrespect?

If the Jazz can somehow sneak past the Nuggets and get into the playoffs as an 8th seed, then that's a successful season knowing all the criticism this team took when they lost both Stockton and Malone, but if they don't make the playoffs, then it's a failure and a huge disappointment.

you confuse me man!!!</div>I didn't expect them to win 25 games. I said PEOPLE expected them to win 25 games.

And no its not a major disappointment considering what they were expected to do. It showed they exceeded expectations. Yes for the Jazz themselves it may be a disappointment, but not for their fans

He was saying that sports writers who are supposed to be professionals predicted about 25 wins, one guy on ESPN said they would break the infamous Sixers 9 win season.
But the way the Jazz treated Malone, Malone said he would consider re-signing with the Jazz last offseason if they was able to compete for a championship this year. Last time I check, they was no big time free agents, we went after Corey Maggette, he actually sign but was matched by the Clippers, same was to Jason Terry getting matched by the Hawks, they threw money at Brad Miller and Elton Brand, so it wasn't that the Jazz wasn't trying to get a championship caliber team. And Malone didn't give them time to sign anyone anyways by signing with the Lakers the first day of that free agents could sign. And if Malone and/or Kobe can't take a small joke, they shouldn't be considered professionals, sure it might be a little wrong but it was for humor, and just forgive and forget.

I think the Jazz are doing fine as it is. Watch in the next couple of years Carlos and Raul will be one of the nicer front courts in the league and AK will still be killin cats. stick with what you got but if you got to make a trade get a center.

Are you guys serious about how Utah isn't succesful because they don't currently have a playoff seed? These guys overachieved immensely; the Jazz were supposed to be the worst team in the league this year, and yet even without their leading-scorer for practically the entire season, they're still outplaying West teams that have a lot more talent, e.g. Clippers and Blazers. Playoffs or not, Jerry Sloan deserves the keys to the city of Salt Lake after this season...

Not all of us have 4 future hall of famers in our team. A .500 record in the Western conference at this stage in the season is was considered an impossible dream at the start of the season for Utah. Look at the Utah lineup, then then tell me if it hasn't been a succesfull year. And where in my first post did I mention how succesfull they were? I was saying that they play better without a superstar player. They play as a team, and do an awesome job of it and they don't need Kobe and his problems in their team.

Spark22- Don't worry your not the first one to think BallerAK47 was a guy. [IMG] She's the first female Jazz fan I've encountered

Classless Utah organisation? Karl Malone is classless. His personal motto must be something like, when the going gets tough, quit. Then leave a team you've played for for 18 seasons and go and leech onto a team you think will win the finals. I still respect him, but he should show the Jazz more respect, especially before the prank call incident. He didn't show them respect, and I'm glad they gave it back to him. If Utah had Karl Malone, they would be in the playoffs, they are lacking at PF and he's a 20/10 guy in Utah. If Utah get into the playoffs, he'll be feeling pretty dumb for doubting the Jazz. He wanted a ring and the scoring title, he could only get one or the other, but he went for the ring and leeched onto a playoff team. He doesn't deserve it, neither does Gary Payton and if they get a ring the feeling will be nothing to what it could be because they weren't as important. Chances are(not going to bet against them), he wont get either and Utah fans will really believe in Karma. Kobe_8 - If you can read some of the preseason predictions for Utah, then tell me if you think they're unsuccesful.

What are you saying? That Karl Malone owes the rest of his career to Utah?
