Well, these 4 players have something in common.. They are terrific ball handler, superb accuracy in jumpshot, slam dunk speciallist, terrifying crossover..which can really break ur ankle.. clutch shooter.. Now what is the real ability of these each player do u think had differentiate from one another.? Bryant at 6'6 guard of the lakers------> I think what differ bryant from other players is his terrific fadaway jumper.. Man.. he can really shoot the ball over the taller defender juz inside the line...always with a off balance shot ..but the shot went in anyway. One more thing with a record of 12.. 3 point shots in a game vs Sonic is incredible. magnificent.. T- Mac at 6'8 of the Rockets-----> Well, i know he is terrific outside shooter .. nothing much about him.. oh yeah he got a 60++ point game.. that what i know about him Jordan..greatest player in the NBA.. Well i think his real ability is his airness.. wow a guy can always slip through 2 to 3 defenders jumping at the same time.. but he is always the last guy who touches the floor.. incredible.. Vinsanity..of the new jersey nets.. Jaw breaking dunks..flashy dunks.. err reminded me about Dr J ... Well..there is limited knowledge of mine with these guys abilities.. so let share it.. what do u think their real abilities? leadership? strategy??
I can tell you what seperates Jordan from all the players you mentioned. His will to win.Its unmatched. Also,Jordan really got into the opposing players head.He had some serious psych skills.Lastly,if you think kobe's fadeaway jumper is nice you should have seen Jordan's.
Well MJ could do almost anything off the court. Lead, create plays, and make his fellow teamates better. Its what good players do. Kobe has that nice fadeaway and regular jumpshot, but its never really 100%. VC had some really nice dunks in the past, but his shooting hasn`t been like it was in the past. As for T-Mac, he`s a terrific shooter but IMO, he can be streaky.
ok let me break down each player: Kobe - very talented, he find a way to twist to the basket and score anytime, and can dribble very creatively. he also has a nice jumpshot, however, he tends to chuck ill-advised shots sometimes. a very compeititive player with a huge desire to prove himself, so Kobe is incredible in crunch time. u would want him taking the final buzzer beater. his compeititiveness also contributes to his excellent defense, but he sometimes tends to go for the steal rather than just shut his man down. Kobe is also turnover prone, but he handles the ball a lot too. very atheletic, can run and dunk with the best of them. watch his baseline moves, prolly the strongest and most explosive amongst perimeter players today. he is a good passer, but he likes to dribble into 3 defenders then kick out, which is a bad thing as turnovers occurs. good rebounder for a guard too, not too many average 6 rebs from the 2 spot. Tmac- like kobe, very talented. he isnt the fastest of players, but he is very elusive, and can slip by any defence anyday. outstanding atheletism too, self-pass two-hands throwdown anyone? has a good outside shot, but streaky at times.maybe has the best fakes in the nba, he can fake the defender out of his position with ease. isnt really clutch, but can deliver if he wants too. his offensive is incredible, but his defence is just average. however, early in his career, he was a good shot blocker. a good passer too, especially out of the double team. a good rebounder too, averages 6 to 7 rebounds per game. RPG dropped this year, but he playing with better post players this season. Vince- famous for his dunks, but he is arguably the best dunker of all time. a probable posterization on very fast break. yet, he has a good shot too, and his explosive first step allows to get to the rim with ease. avearge defender, not a bad rebounder, however is known to play half-heartedly, and is injury prone. Jordan- incredible hang-time, famous for his anti-gravity moves. yet he had a very consitent jumpshot, and would nail it every time his team needed points. amazing body control, like Kobe he can twist in midair , draw contact, and still get the bucket. unlike Kobe, jordan can do it on a regular basis. very good defender, he can completely lock a dude down. won a defensive player of the year too, at guard spot, thats hell impressive in an era full of dominant big men. a good passer too, and rebounder too very compeititive, he had this amazing drive to succeed, and nailed countless clutch shots and buzzer-beaters. he also gave it his all in practise, and worked his ass off every summer. his love for the game is unmatched, even played through a fever and stomach virus to score 38 points. how many players today is willing to do that? his rings and numerous awards pretty much speak for themselves.
The underlying difference is all of those players had a chance to watch and emmulate Jordan. Jordan invented Jordan by constantly adding to his game offensively and defensively. Also GiantMidget made a great point, Jordan was the master of headgames and he moved better without the ball. His will to win was off the charts and was only matched by his basketball IQ.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting The Hogg:</div><div class="quote_post">VC had some really nice dunks in the past, but his shooting hasn`t been like it was in the past</div> Huh? Which VC are we talking about? Vince is an amazing jump shooter...a very good shooter period. He can hit the toughest shots and has a great stroke. His shot just gets better. I have no clue what you're talking about.
Well I don't even know if it's necessary to describe all of them. I simply see it as this: Michael Jordan Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, and Vince Carter.
VC had some really nice dunks in the past, but his shooting hasn`t been like it come on man take a look at his stats since joining da nets. he's shooting better percentage than kob and tmac. Go check it at nba.com plus he's unstoppable in one on one battle just ask da spurs guy Bowen
I think flamehead made some pretty good points about their games. All four are obviously gifted athletes. I think Kobe and Jordan are the most complete, offensively. Jordan didn't have the range of the other three, but his mid-range game was unparalleled. Jordan had the best body control and balance, which allowed him to play at a very high level and almost never get injured. Mentally, I think he was a step above the rest. One way in which he's close to McGrady than Kobe is his relatively few turnovers. He and McGrady handle the ball so much, and yet they always average under 3 turnovers a game. Kobe is actually over 4 this year, I believe.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting mrj18:</div><div class="quote_post">Well I don't even know if it's necessary to describe all of them. I simply see it as this: Michael Jordan Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, and Vince Carter.</div> <font color="Blue"> I think it's more like this: Michael Jordan - The GOAT Kobe Bryant - Plays better Defense than Vince and T-Mac and has a knack for finding his way to the basket even if it takes a near-impossible shot to get 2 points and a foul. The most clutch player since MJ. Tracy McGrady - Great offensive player. Not much of a leader. Lazy at times. Vince Carter - Injuries were major setbacks to this guy. Has naturally gifted athleticism, but has faded away over time. </font>
Tracy was probably the better shooter of the four, but what he lacked was good shot selection, which also seems to be Kobe's problem. Jordan had a mid-range game that was and is unmatched in this league. Of the four, kobe and Jordan are the better and probably natural leaders. Vince Carter was is the most athletic and Jordan just played these mindgames.
RJ21 outlined the differences great IMO..Although I'm not sure about the most clutch player for Kobe.. But Kobe has a huge desire to prove himself , and works well under pressure(see: Games during his trial). And its sad that Vince never seemed to have that desire ever since he was drafted(scouts comments on work ethic). Injuries were a setback but his own work ethic was terrible(subconscious or not_.
2 out of the 4 players you name dont particularly put the same effort on defense, and none of them but michael jordan make the players around them better, i particularly see very little in common

Vince carter is not only known for his dunks... if you peope watch him play hes really a big underrated jump shooter... and very a very good passer
huh <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Banks:</div><div class="quote_post">Huh? Which VC are we talking about? Vince is an amazing jump shooter...a very good shooter period. He can hit the toughest shots and has a great stroke. His shot just gets better. I have no clue what you're talking about.</div> How can you say that vince has a "great stroke"? Do you watch him play or just watch the highlights and see the tough shots and not see the rest of his 10-30 shooting nights? He is shooting .434 on the season and he gets to the rim a lot more than most people so his jump shot percantage is much lower.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Semmi:</div><div class="quote_post">Vince Carter is also known for his whining.....as is Kobe Bryant...</div> *dies of laughter*
