there have been buzz around that kobe is leaving the lakers. if he does, i think he should go to clippers. what do you think clippers fans?
I heard about that too. He doesn't want to uproot his family and he's already friends with a lot of players on that team. I hope he doesn't leave to keep the Laker dynasty alive but if there was anywhere he would sign, it would be here.
That means we would lose Q Rich, but Kobe is better than him, I just hope that Kobe decides to come play for the other team in L.A., then They would be contendors with Brand, Maggette, and Kobe

i'm no lakers nor clips fan, but i am a fan of ex-bull brand, i think it would be awesome if kobe goes to the clippers. y? cuz then in L.A. your west finals match-up pits the lakers: oneal, malone, payton against the clips: brand, maggette, kobe oneal's team vs bryant's team, how cool would that be?

However, if Bryant leaves, I won't expect Malone and Payton to be in LA. They're here to play for a championship, not to wipe up Shaq's a$$.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting holyace2k2:</div><div class="quote_post"> but where would u think payton and malone will go?</div> Retirement home
Nah, I bet Payton and Malone will stay put regardless if Kobe leaves or not. When healthy, Shaq/Malone/George/Rush/Payton lineup could still compete for a championship. Hell, even T-Mac is a consideration if Kobe were to leave though, we'll just have to see how it all plays out.
I would love to see Kobe sign with the Clippers, mabye then the Clippers would finally get the respect and notoriety that they deserve. It would also significantly decrease the dominance of the Lakers dynasty, and that's always a good thing .
Last week it looked like a possiblity, now it looks unlikely. Who knows? Anybody see those signs that were made with Kobe in a Clipper jersey that said, "coming soon"? Maybe, maybe not, but Kobe does look good in the red, white & blue...

I personally would like to see Kobe stay with the Lakers and the Clips instead pursue a true talented solid PG, and resign Q. Kaman has also shown a lot of promise, and I don't see the Kobe-to-Clippers thing happening, so I would try to keep that current starting lineup with a good pg. I don't know what kind of PGs are avalible this offseason, and I know Nash is out of the question, but does anyone know a free-agent PG as a possibility?
Travis Best Jamal Crawford ® Mike James Kenny Anderson Rafer Alston Damon Jones Rod Strickland Charlie Ward Brent Barry Carlos Arroyo Brevon Knight Jacque Vaughn JR Bremer Jamie Brewington Chris Whitney A lot of viable options, if given the choice I would like Arroyo, Ward or Barry. What do you think?
Only one who catches my eye is Brevin Knight, only because he's the only one who really knows how to pass and wrack up the assists. The Clippers don't need much scoring anymore, and all they really need is a PG with handles and the ability to distribute the ball and get some nice assists. Defense is one of our weaknesses also, too bad a guy like Eric Snow when he was young isn't avalible, he would have been perfect. He can play D and still is a true PG with size. As for the others in that list, I don't think are pure enough as PGs and some I just don't think are starter material. Most of them are also pretty old and I think we need a guy who's not too young, but not old.. say like a guy 25-28, a guy who's been in the league for years but still isn't old..
I like Brevin too, I'd rather have Arroyo, but he'll probably be looking for a fairly significant contract. I don't think Charlie Ward would be too bad of an idea though, he's not going to be the long-term solution, but he could provide the team with some steady veteran leadership. I would also like to see the Clipps pick up a PG in the draft like Nelson or Felton, if they wind up in the top ten at least one of these guys should be available.

Getting Kobe would be great, but I don't see it likely and I really wouldn't want to see it because I'd rather have Kobe stay a Laker. If we could keep our lineup + Nelson, damn next year would be one hell of a year for us. www.nbadraft.net got us at the #10 pick selecting Nelson btw

I would also hope that Kobe remains a Laker, it really would be disappointing if he decided to leave. But, if for some reason he does, the only other team I would want to see him with is the Clippers. If he goes to Phoenix I'll be physically ill. Sterling is going to have to handle Q in the offseason, he can match any offer, but he'll probably be looking at another 60-80 million dollar contract. It's a bit too much for Q right now, but somebody will be willing to throw that kind of money at him. I can see a team following Miami's lead and frontloading the deal in order to make it more difficult for the Clipps to match. If Q can't be resigned before he becomes eligible to field offers, this could turn into a bad situation. Sterling could have come to Q this past offseason and probably locked him up for 40-50 mil, now that number will likely go up at least 50%. This is the true test for Clipper ownership, we shall see just how committed they truly are.
Yeah, I don't know about Nelson dropping all the way down to 10. The Clippers might go on one of their breakdowns and lose games like crazy to fall to an earlier pick though, that would be nothing new. I don't see that happening this year though, but we just never can be sure when talking about the Clips. As for Q, you're probably right that teams will probably be throwing huge contracts at him just so the Brand/Maggette thing doesn't happen again, and it'll be a huge disappointment if we do lose him. We might have to do a sign and trade deal just so we don't lose anything when he gets that huge contract, which I guess is better than losing him straight up. You (OgShowtime) and I should really start making previews for Clipper games. I would do this next sone but I don't know how to put up pictures in posts.

I was just going to pose this question, or email one of the mods to find out.
