    Kobe: "Trade Me"

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The story lines that have engulfed the Los Angeles Lakers in the last week hit a crescendo Wednesday when Kobe Bryant said he would welcome a trade.

<font size=""5"">"I would like to be traded, yeah,"</font> Bryant said on 1050 ESPN Radio in New York. "Tough as it is to come to that conclusion there's no other alternative, you know?"

Bryant, interviewed by Stephen A. Smith, was asked if there was anything the Lakers could do to change his mind?

"No," Bryan said. "I just want them to do the right thing."

Earlier in the day, Bryant said team owner Jerry Buss masterminded the trade of Shaquille O'Neal -- and Shaq later confirming Kobe's account.

The issues between Bryant and the Lakers have reached a boil, beginning with Bryant voicing his displeasure with the club's direction, his suggestion that Jerry West should return to fix things, West's statement that he has no intention of undermining GM/good friend Mitch Kupchak, and, unrelated but bizarre in its timing, Buss' arrest early Tuesday for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Bryant was left "beyond furious" by a report in Tuesday's Los Angeles Times that read, "as a Lakers insider notes, it was Bryant's insistence on getting away from Shaquille O'Neal that got them in this mess."</div>

I don't know why players always do this, the best thing is to actually go to management and not make your demand public because it kills your trade value.

He is angry with the organisation, though, so maybe he wants his trade value to go down, so the Lakers get less for him.

Do you really want to make me a fan of the Raptors, lol?

Kobe and Bosh would be sick.

HUGE HUGE news. Sounds like the demand is very real and Kobe isnt changing his mind. Its going to be really tough to get equal value for him, but I am rooting for the Bulls to get him.

I think he did the right thing in going public about it. For an organisation that betrayed him, they (the management) deserve to get their names dragged in the filth. Shame on them!

Damn, this offseason is going to be HUGE for the NBA. The draft is going to be loaded, you have stars that are going to be in the free agent market like Kobe Bryant, Chauncey Billups, and Rashard Lewis. This might just be a franchising changing off-season for some teams.

I don't think the Lakers will trade him at this point. They need someone to bring in the bucks, so unless they get a superstar in return, I don't see it happening. I understand why he's so furious though....to whoever hasn't checked out his interview o nthe radio from last night (not with Stephen A., there is another one), you guys should definetly check it out. It's on the Laker forum and he speaks his mind about everything.

The fact that Shaq is backing him up on all this is probably the most surprising thing and tells you how messed up this organization is. I predict atleast 7-8 pages for this thread lol.

Apparenty Kobe now wants to stay in LA and hopes something can be resolved.

He wants to bring back Jerry West apparently, and Mitch Kupchak fired.
