LOS ANGELES - The plan was to have Kobe Bryant play the role of facilitator this season.

But after he averaged five turnovers in 21.5 minutes per game in six of the seven games he played in during the exhibition season, Coach Phil Jackson decided to move Bryant back to the wing spot and have Derek Fisher run the offense.

"We discussed how he played yesterday, the role he played," Jackson said Tuesday. "We also discussed the fact that I'll probably put Fisher on the ball, pushing the ball in the offense, and put him down on the wing on the offensive end rather than pushing the ball down."

Bryant had no issue with that.

"It's just back in my comfort zone," Bryant said. "So I'm back in that kind of striking position."

I don't think this will last long.

Kobe may turn it over a lot but he IS the offense.
