<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Like bacon and eggs, or peanut butter and chocolate, some things just go together. So it was only a matter of time until Andre Miller and Kyle Korver discovered mutual admiration. "Kyle is a scorer, and Andre Miller is a point guard and he makes his living on assists," Sixers coach Maurice Cheeks said. "Most times, when you have a guy who can score and a guy who can pass, they usually find some way to get together." Korver is hardly Miller?s only target, but he is perhaps the one who has most noticeably benefited from the presence of a true point guard. Once the designated 3-point shooter, Korver has become effective from all over the floor. Suddenly, he can make layups as easily as he can knock down the long-range jumper. "I?ve never played with a point guard like him, who just threads the needle like he does," Korver said recently. "I?m down there and I think there?s just no way that I?m open, but I look at him and he just whips it. I?ve got to start doing football drills trying to catch these things all the time. The ball?s kind of slick and you?ve got to catch it and also finish it. "But it?s something that it?s really helped me a lot as far as getting easy shots and layups. Hopefully, at the end of the game I?d like him to have confidence in me because I love taking those shots at the end of the game." When Allen Iverson was with the Sixers, players like Korver and Andre Iguodala often seemed to be spectators. With Miller, who was acquired from Denver in the Iverson trade, they have an incentive to move. Get open and there?s a good chance the point guard will find you. "I like making passes like that," Miller said of some of his high-velocity throws to Korver and Iguodala. "It?s a high-risk pass, but sometimes it gets through. Sometimes it doesn?t, but I?m not really worried about turnovers. I like to see guys get easy baskets when they work hard to get open." On Wednesday night against Cleveland, it was Iguodala taking the late shots -- and making them as the Sixers prevailed in double overtime. They have a rematch with the Cavaliers tonight at the Wachovia Center (7 p.m., CSN). In the last four games, the Sixers are 3-1, with two of the victories coming in overtime. Late in Tuesday?s win over New Orleans-Oklahoma City, it was Miller taking the late jumpers to help seal the win. Still, he?s a facilitator -- a role he takes seriously, though he?ll be the first to admit that changing teams in midseason hasn?t been easy. "It?s tough because you?re pretty much in the middle of the season and you?ve got to just jump in and try to get everybody on the same track at the same time," Miller said. "You kind of have to be patient with the offense and just make the simple plays. Right now we?re struggling, but I think it?s gonna take a while to get everybody on the same track." Miller, however, envisions a bright future. "I see talent here," he said. "There?s a lot to work with. We?ve just got to continue to work hard. It?s a good working group, and I think with training camp I can be a little more (effective.)" That doesn?t mean, however, the Sixers are packing it in and waiting for next year. "It?s gonna take awhile and I think everybody knows that, but at the same time you never want to settle," Miller said. "We?re here and we?ve got 12 guys and we?ve got to step on the court knowing we can be competitive every night. It?s just gonna take some time and guys? confidence has to grow in each other." </div> Link This really sucks. Andre Miller has really been making all his teammates around him better. Too bad we are so horrible. Miller could be a key piece to help this team become competitive................if we had talent. Anyways, I still think Miller has to go. He's ruining our chances for the top pick
Andre Miller has really helped the development of Iguodala and Korver, as well as the 76ers team as a whole. Now whether that is a good or bad thing remains to be seen, but he definitely has the talent to be a starting point guard on many playoff contending teams. I wouldn't be surprised to see us deal him before the line simple out of courtesy.
