NBA All-Rookie Second Team, the NBA announced today. Krstic led the Second Team honorees with seven first place votes and 30 points in the voting, conducted by the league's head coaches. "This is a very big honor," said the 7-0 native of Serbia-Montenegro. "I want to thank all of my coaches and teammates who helped me improve during the year, and the NBA coaches who voted for me." Joining Krstic on the Second Team were Josh Smith and Josh Childress of Atlanta, Jameer Nelson (Orlando) and Al Jefferson (Boston). The First Team consisted of Emeka Okafor (Charlotte), Dwight Howard (Orlando), Ben Gordon (Chicago), Andre Iguodala (Philadelphia) and Luol Deng (Chicago).</div> Nets.com I'm surprised I didn't see a thread on this. Many didn't expect Krstic to be this good and he's been one of the rookie surprises this year. I really expected him to get 5 minutes a game and get the rookie treatment at it's fullest. He's been working hard and made it to the got milk? Rookie Second Team. He deserves a lot of props.
I actually expected to do Krstic to put up these kind of numbers and have this kind of impact before the season. I read a lot of articles on him and saw him footage of him, and it looked like he could take over the starting center job at the start of the season, like the way he finished it off. However, with Zo returning, it messed things up and Krstic saw limited PT and didn't look great. My expectations then changed for him, for the season. However, after the VC trade, when he was forced into major minutes and the starting role, he showed me why I rated him so high before the beginning of the season. Congrats and well earned award by Krstic.
