<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">With Jason Kidd returning to action on Monday night, the domino effect is beginning and it is beginning with Jason Williams of the Memphis Grizzlies.

According to Ronald Tillery of the Memphis Commercial Appeal, the Nets' new ownership group likes Williams, not only for his on court talent, but also his fan popularity.

New Jersey is keen on moving Alonzo Mourning with Kidd and Jerry West was one of Zo's suitors before last season and it is likely that he would be willing to take on his contract.

Another report has Philadelphia interested in unloading forward Kenny Thomas, a solid frontcourt player with a contract similar to Williams's.</div>

I would not like this trade for a few reasons. First Jay Will is more or or less a washed up, shadow of his former self player now. He would not help our team much, and Jo's system usually does not have a true point guard in the run and gun offense he likes to run. Secondly he would hurt our young players developement basically Green, but Iggy a little as well, because if he was aquired AI would revert back to the 2 which would mean either Korver or Iggy would have to go to the bench. Korver is currently playing the 2, but he is more of a small forward, and Iggy is more of two guard they may want to move Korver back to the 3 and then Iggy or Korver one or the other would have less minutes.

I don't see how this trade would help the Sixers at all.... I thought in the beginning of the season Obie said he wanted the balls in Iverson as much as he can, so if he's Jwill is here, i don't think that'll happen.

well kenny thomas has been slumping for the sixers. And maybe jason williams is not the point gaurd that they want in memphis.

I know earl is younger and he palys solid, thus the memphis orginization does not have to try to break earl of any bad habits because he has none as a player. hes developing his habits now and from what i see they all seem good.

and from what i meant by that statement was the supposed exuberant play of williams is his habits.

but i too thought that philly was trying to let allen handle the ball alot this year. but it seems that green handles it alot also this year. so i think green and jason williams could be a solid backcourt. also the more allen handles the ball ( in my opinion ) all season the more we risk not having him during playoffs due to pitty patty injuries.

i'm looking forward to this trade going through. Now all i see the sixers having to do if this trade goes through is wait till next year when they can dump big dogs contract let him off his chain and fish the free agency for up and coming talent.

If we were to change our coach, I'd say this is a good trade. Since we aren't going to change our coach then I'm gonna say no because we don't need a PG as long as OB runs his "SYSTEM".

They do have similer contracts, but do I think this will happen? Not a chance. Reason number one is because, #3 is our point guard, Obie said it before the season and I think he is sticking with it. Although we aren't winning and we need to make a move, I don't think THIS should be the move we make.

I am not a big fan of Iverson playing point though, I am just stating what the organization would most likly do. I would like to see a lot more point play from Willie Green though [IMG]

All this trade is is rumors, Jason Williams is not what we need. jason Williams is a starting point guard, and so is AI. I think the Sixers are sticking with AI. AI and JAson Williams would never work together. Also I would rather get a rebounding big man in a trade rather than a point guard. Our back court is great. It's our front court that needs help.

I dont really think it is so much our front court needing help as the fact that our front court is not at its best right now. Ok I am going to say something right now that I have been thinking over for a day or two now. i do not think it is a trade that we need we have a basic over laod of players at every position one reason why Skinner doesnt play as much as he should. I think we just need to put our best team on the court every night which we have not been doing I mean come on Davis over Thomas at starting power forward and offering Glenn Robinson the starting power forward spot thats jsut stupidity in my mind when you have a guy who averaged a double double last season sitting on your bench. Then we are starting Marc Jackson one of my favorite players a philly native so dont get me wrong, but no way he should start over SD. SD had a break out year last year, and looked to continue it this season and showed it in his first start of the year.

Then we have a injured former sixth man of the year in Williamson who when he is 100% will improve our front court 60% in my mind it is not a matter of making a deal it is the matter of knowing how to use the talent that is given to you. Now that KT and SD are both starting I look for the Sixers to be back at or over .500 before the end of the month I would even place a bet on it.

I think the cancer that kills our team right now which is the only deal I would be intrested in right now is to trade Glenn Robinson. The guy is the worst quote me on this worst player in the NBA. I would love to see him just fall out of the league as soon as possible I would trade him for $ 2.00 and a bag of chips right now. He is jsut that bad I think he is our version of what Childs was in his one season in new jersey a player who is waying the team down with his negativity and if he is traded the team would sky rocket in my mind.

Ya that is tru actually because I was very satisfied with this team other than Big Dog and I've been wondering why we've been sucking. Our tier list should be like this probably something like you said

    C-Samuel Dalembert/ Marc Jackson/ Brian Skinner
PF- Kenny THomas/ Corliss Williamson/ Brian Skinner
SF- Kyle Korver/ Corliss Williamson/ Josh Davis
SG- Andre IGuodala/ John Salmons/ Aaron McKie
PG- Allen IVerson/ Willie Green/ Aaron MCKie

THe others I don't really think matter

Corliss Williamson was not injured for a lot of the games we lost in.
Yes though he is a great improvemnt to our roster if he comes back.

lol [IMG] thats true, chips> Big Dog. I would trade him along with some one like KEvin Ollie for a decent player that will actually contribute to this team. OVerall I think our team is capable of making people say WOW, the effort just hasn't been there yet.

I pretty much agree with everyone assessment on why Jason Williams wouldn't be a good fit here. So there is not very much to be said about that. However I do somewhat agree with Pure Skillz as in; I think we just need to put our best team on the court every night.

While the team still has some holes, the current roster is not that bad. But I disagree with Ace2k2 depth chart. Unlike, early on Mckie has been doing a better. He's seems more active and is doing some damage off the ball. He's been looking to get his shot and the way he's performed as of late earned him the backup SG spot. So I think the depth chart should go as followed, however with McKie as the backup SG and you can put Salmons after him or sometimes before him pending on the game situation. But Mckie should be the backup SG on most occasions.

SG- Andre Iguodala/ John Salmons/Aaron McKie
    PG- Allen Iverson/Willie Green/Aaron McKie

I still think that Wille Green and John Salmons are better than McKie. However his defense today against the Bucks was pretty good. Especially in the 4th quarter. He was pressuring Mike Redd mostly and making him work for ALL of his shots in the 4th. However I still think that Willie and Salmons deserve to be in front of Aaron on the depth chart, and now I think that Marc Jackson belongs in front of Sammy.

I do not think that Salmons is better than Mckie yet. Mckie is a vetern, and former 6th man of the year, and he has a great three point shot, and last year when AI went down he stepped up big time. Now sure he is off to a slow start this year, but he is still better than Salmons in my mind Salmons is not consistant enough yet to be considered better than Mckie.

He has been working his ass off lately though so I think he deserves playing time, and like Avery said depending on the situation I think mckie should be the backup. Green though ahs shown he is a good player and can perform and he deserves playing time he just needs to work on his shot a little more to be more effective.

Yes McKie is a veteran. Glenn Robinson is a veteran too, do we want him? Veteran ship alone doesn't make me want him. Also the key word is former 6th man of the year. That was 4 seasons ago, and he's lost most of his basketball touch. When you say Iverson or Tim Duncan are former MVP's it doesnt sound so bad because they still are AMAZing players. McKie is pretty much washed up as of now, his defense though is the only thing that sticks out to me. Hers his 6th Man year and his NOW year.

    3P% .231

Lets see if this was 3 yrs ago I'd agree Aaron is better, but as of now John Salmons is clearly a better player. Well in my mind scoring 1.5 PPG is not good enough to be better than some one scoring 5 PPG.

In the Bucks game today McKie was missing every shot he took, I don't even think he scored One point. He missed at least 3 open shots. His defense was the only thing that kept me entertained. Hussle plays and defense is what McKie has on Salmons, and Salmons isn't that bad of a defender either.

That's exactly what we need. Sure 7-8 Points from him wouldn't be bad, but the 76ers are still scoring without him. So his defense would be better than his offense because the way things look right now the 76ers needs more defense than offense. And as far as that goes McKie defense is what should place him over the likes of Green and Salmons. Let?s face it, if we put Salmons/Green we would most likely be getting more offense than defense, and with this very lackadaisical defensive team, McKie should be getting more minutes.

Mckie 2000-01 minutes per game 31.5. Mckie 2004-05 minutes per game 12.5 I think his decreased minutes and injuries have been a big reason why he is not as prolific a scorer as he was in the 2000-01 season. if he stillw as able to average 31.5 minutes a game and finish the season having played a total a 76 games that year without his body breakign down and not being ready for the playoffs think he would still be a top runner for sixth man of the year.
By the way Salmons is averaging 4 more points then Mckie, but has also avraged 20.4 minutes this year compared to mckies 12 minutes a game. He has also made 72 field goal attempts compared to Mckie's 21.
