for breaking up one of the largest Heroin and meth bust in Oregon history. A Mexican drug ring was distributing mega quantities on the streets and laundering money through a grocery store. There were approx. 40 people arrested. I applaud the work of the small underfunded Gresham Police, and they bringing in the FBI, Homeland security and other agencies (Not Portland as the Mayor probably had an issue with it) to get these dirtbags. Someone said these drug cartels are like the modern day slave traders, with zero concern for humanity. Nice work Gresham law enforcement, FBI & Dept. Homeland Security. WE need to protect our youngsters from these dirtbags!
I use to know the wife of a Gresham policeman. Nice lady which speaks well of him. Of course, that was 20 years ago so I have no idea if he's still on the Gresham police force. Gresham has had some serious crime problems for a while now. Too bad. I use to ride a special bus for strawberry pickers out to Gresham where we picked our strawberries when I was a kid. Still remember Gresham as a picturesque place.
I too was up a 4 am catching a berry bus as young 12. Paradise acres in Damascus area. Picked berries and beans till I got a workers permit at 15 and started bussing and pumping gas.
We never needed no stinking workers permit and I was only 10 when I started picking berries. I continued picking berries and delivering newspapers until I was 13. Edit: And cutting grass. Oh, people, people not that kind of grass.
