Pro Wrestler Arrested For DUI in PA

The attorney for pro wrestler Kurt Angle is disputing drunken driving charges filed by Pittsburgh-area authorities, telling a western Pennsylvania TV station that he did not believe there was a basis for the charges.

Authorities said they charged Angle, 38, last Friday after a motorist claimed he cut her off while pulling out of a bar parking lot. When Moon Township investigators went to Angle's home, they said he acknowledged driving home from the bar that afternoon.
He failed a field sobriety test and refused a blood test, according to police.

The wrestler's attorney, Mike Santicola, said Angle refused the blood test on the advice of his agent, whom the wrestler called while police were at the house. Santicola also denied that Angle failed the field sobriety test and said his client may be targeted because he is a celebrity.

Angle won a gold medal in the 1996 Summer Olympics before becoming a television sportscaster and then a pro wrestler.
