How many of you guys know about this? Im sure being Lakers fans... Most of you have. His father used to beat him every day, And would scream/call him names on a daily basis. 'His apparently consisted of beatings from his father that would make him internalize everything, let anything that bothered him eat away at him from the inside' That's the major reason why he took the Jordan comments so hard. His dad is currently in jail on a murder charge. I feel really bad for Kwame Brown but I think LA is the best place for him. Out of all the Laker games I have seen whenever Brown does something good Kobe Bryant and others show him major love. Giving gim hugs, Fives, Ect. They really support him when he does well. Look at his arm. His dad used to burn cigarettes on his arm.
man that is awful.....I know Kwame gets a lot of hate for not playing up to his hype, but I still feel that he can be a good big man in LA.
Damn for real? I was wondering what those were on his arm. I got a lot more love for Kwame now, I'm gonnna ease up on the butter finger jokes
Damn! Did not know that....but I hope your statements are credible. Sad if its true and I know why he sometimes puts him self down when he does not succeed. I dont expect him to be a powerful center or a big time player. But I do hope he maintains his consistency in defense and makes effort in improving his game. 13/9 is good enough for me.
I've seen those scars on his arms in a couple of games. I never thought much of it, I thought it was either from a past injury, or maybe a birthmark. I never would have thought they were burnt marks coming from his father's cigarettes. What a sick man, this just makes me want to root for Kwame even harder
Kwame is the man. He's come a long way and as far as Im concerned, has a home here in LA and in the hearts of its fans...
Oh man, you know how much that hurts? I accidently touched a burning cig and it hurt like a bitch. Imagine how much it would hurt for Kwame when he was still young and out of all the people in this world, it tends to be his father. This does explain a lot, thanks for posting this.
I've posted his story many of times. Honestly, I think I'm nearing 10 times posting it. It's a disgusting thing.

I was really against Kwame becoming a Laker, but after reading about his childhood struggles, I backed off my initial criticism and felt he deserved a chance first. The irony is Caron Butler also group up under rough circumstances. I think coming to Los Angeles and being coached and mentored by PJax was the best thing that could have happened for Kwame. It's all about feeling acceptance and getting confidence in himself.
When I read something like what happened to Kwame, it makes me never want to say anything bad about the guy. If I was knew someone who'd been through that kind of thing, I think I would hate myself if I mistreated them lol. Kwame deserves some love, Kwame seemed to really turn around in baksetball terms last year.
