It sounds like the Rockets could look to move Lowry and sign Dragic long-term: [via B-Edge] He started off the season putting up Rondo type of numbers but really leveled off, still solid though. The numbers: 14.3 PPG | 4.6 RPG | 6.6 APG | 40 FG% | 37 3PT% 18.9 PER | 104 DRtg
ugh ... without looking up any numbers and going by the eye test i really want dragic over lowry. besides that we'd have to trade for lowry which means giving up assests and cap room vs. just cap room for dragic.
For the record -- I would hope the Blazers have higher hopes (Rondo, Williams?) for the PG position. Lowry doesn't excite me, even though he's solid on both ends of the court. There's just not a lot of upside left with Kyle. He's solid but not a game changer. His assists and shooting% are nearly identical to Felton.
i would tend to agree. if lowry is our pg next season it will be because we whiffed big time on everyone else. if that happens i really hope we at least have marshall in uniform ready to take over in a year or two.
Yeah, I got on the board just now to post this, but I see there's a thread for it. http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/e...wry-seeks-trade-because-of-coach-kevin-mchale So I guess I won't.
Comparing him to Felton is laughable. Dude had a serious bacterial infection and couldn't eat solid food for weeks. He came back but was literally a shadow of himself. The illness and Goran emerging are why his stats faded but he should be back to form next season. Here's the stats that matter from the start of the season to when he went out March 8th. 35.4 Min, 15.9 pnts. on 42%, 1.9 3's made per game at 39%, 4.5 FTM at 87%, 7.2 Assts vs 3.2 TOs, 1.8 Stls, 5.3 RBs Portland hasn't had PG production like that in decades. He'll be 26 years old next season and is under contract for two more seasons on the cheap at about 6M per nope STOMP
31.4 Min., 12.9 ppg on 44% shooting, 1.2 3s @ 38%, 6.9 apg vs. 2.8 TOpg. The production of Felton after the AS break last season. The numbers are even slightly better than that if you break down for specifically after McMillan was fired. If you are taking a small sample of before injury, I'll take a small sample of after McMillan. Where's the huge difference there? Production like that in decades? We just had production like that at the end of THIS season. And it's more a comparison if you look at what Felton did last season, the PG we thought we were trading for, and Lowry, the one we'd be trading for. Only difference I can find is that everyone hates Felton SO much, Lowry looks like a giant upgrade, when it's marginal at best.
looking closer at his numbers and i'm convinced this is who we'll end up with. dragic will sign with the rockets and somehow we will end up trading the #11 pick for lowry, even though he's made it abundantly clear he doesn't want to be there. i'm not saying this is horrible but it seems to be the sort of questionable, ho-hum acquisition the blazers make.
Ugh, if anything this means Drajic will be a premium price this summer. Lowry sounds like he could be disgruntled and at 6 million yr could be a good addition. Don't know enough about him, but he might be more of a bargin than Drajic who could command 8-9 million yr?
Watch this turn out to be some giant fucking to where the Rockets re-sign Drajic and trade Lowry to the Lakers for Gasol.
Are there stats anywhere on how many times a PG dribbles off of his foot or turns the ball over at critical points of the game?
Lowry and what additional $12 million or so in salaries are the Rockets trading to match Pau's contract?
Nolan Smith, Shawn Williams & a second rounder for Lowry on draft day? Is he worth that package swapping No. 11 for the 2nd rounder if the Rockets play hardball?
If we want Dragic, wouldn't we be better off trying to give him an offer that Houston wouldn't match? Kyle has 2 years left on a reasonable contract worth 5-6 million per year, so the Rockets won't necessarily feel pressured to trade him. But if we could get him for only the #11, we'd still have a lot of money left to throw at Roy Hibbert.
