<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>If Rodney Dangerfield was still alive, he’d be wearing a Nets uniform. Dangerfield’s trademark line, “I don’t get no respect” applies to New Jersey’s NBA entry. In fact, the preseason predictions are so badLawrence Frank iswondering aloud whetherthe team should apply forre-entry into the NBA. Think he’s using it as a motivational tool? Nah. Then, how come everyone seems to be on exercise bikes all the time, even in the sauna</div></p> Magloire's Still Working Out</p>
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Word is he got there earlier than 9:15 for a practice that started at 11 a.m. He practiced, lifted, came out and did some footwork drills around cones, went back in and lifted some more and was still shooting at about 2:25 p.m.</div></p> Holy cow. Don't know if I see this continuing on through the season (I would hope not, given our injury-curse), but for those who want to see Magloire take the starting spot away from Collins, he's certainly on the right track; good for him.</p>
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Frank gave up some good material when the subject of preseason magazine previews came up. As you know, the Nets were picked ninth in SI.</p> "Preseason is the only time that predictions are made based on total hypotheses," Frank said. "They’re not based on what you’re record is. Based on that, we actually filed an application to be reinserted in the NBA. There were a couple of nice [ones] that had us 31 out of 30. We have to figure what we have to do to get back in the league. At the same time, no ifs ands or buts about it, the East has gotten a lot better and we have to raise our level of play."</p> Well, does it motivate you?</p> "Right now, we’re seeing if we’re allowed to practice in an NBA gym," Frank said. "We probably can, but if we can’t stay in this facility, if we have to go to a junior college, our guys may not like it. But again, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and the bottom line is you earn it with your play."</p> So you were offended?</p> "Hell, what am I offended by? I’m the 32nd best coach in the NBA," Frank answered. "I’m not offended. Hopefully it’s a proving ground. You work your tail off every day, and come Wednesday we have a left hand column and right hand column."</p> In short - it bothered him and he made sure every one of his players saw a copy.</p> </div> Haha, gotta love that coach can be a comedian. That really was funny, I'm surprised, I wouldn't peg Frank as a comedian.</p> </p>
Respect? be honest guys, do you think you can finish higher then Boston, Detroit, Chicago, Crapland, Miami, Toronto, DC?</p>

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Ed the Decider)</div><div class='quotemain'></p> Respect? be honest guys, do you think you can finish higher then Boston, Detroit, Chicago, Crapland, Miami, Toronto, DC?</p> </div></p> Boston - yes Detroit - probably not Chicago - probably not Cleveland Steamer - yes Miami - probably not Toronto - yes DC - hell yeah. The wizards are the most overrated team in the east IMO</p> </p>
Who cares if the Nets get "respect" from a bunch of talking heads and no-talent hype mongers?</p> I'm just happy the season is finally starting and we can just watch the games and evaluate things that actually happen.</p>
Well, after looking at the preseason, the depth, the intangibles (as Kidd reminded us), and the extra work that a number of players have put in this year (Boki, Antoine, Marcus, Magloire, Vince, Nenad), I'm going on record: barring a major injury (15+ games missed by one of the big 4), this team will win 52+ games and get, at least, to the ECF. I think everything is falling in line the right way this year. I like the sobriety of the mood; the quiet confidence; the maturity; the "under the radar" aspect; the mix of youth and vets; the versatility of the lineups; the offensive changes the coaching staff is implementing. I like that our go to guy sounds hungrier than he's been since 04-05 and has spent extra time on his shot this off season. The Nets are going to surprise a lot of people.</p>
