<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Miami Heat have come to terms with Christian Laettner. He will join Shaquille O'Neal in the Heat's revamped frontcourt. "I started looking at the Heat probably last year when I moved down to Florida," he said of relocating to the Jacksonville suburb. "That's where my family stayed last year while I was with the Wizards. I just said to myself I want to play a few more years and I want to be around my family and I want to be on a good team. "I called my agent and I said, `You've got to get me somewhere in Florida,' and there's only two teams. Right away my agent said Orlando might be tough, and I said, `Let's do the Miami thing.' This was even before Shaq got on the team." </div> Full Story
Depends if he puts in the work... hopefully he can have atleast a mediocre year backing up someone at PF, or even coming in at C for Shaq when Shaq's tired.... who knows...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting WadeDynasty:</div><div class="quote_post">hmm...is this good signing? I can't tell..</div> As long as he doesn't get suspended again for doing drugs like last year, it can't hurt. He's washed up though and I really hate the way Riley butchered this team. We went from one of the youngest teams with an uptempo run and gun style to one of the oldest teams with a half court style.
I think he will be a good addition to the Heat. He won't be an all star but he can contribute enough to make a difference.
This signing definately helps shape our roster out, even though we still have a glaring need at SF. Front 13: 1-Wade|D.Jones|Dooling 2-E.Jones|W.Person 3-Butler|Wright|Beasley 4-U.Haslem|Laettner|Allen 5-S.O'Neal|Doleac
This should be a good addition to the team, Laettner is a veteran and will surely help the squad with the only veterans being O'Neal, Doleac, Eddie, Person, and Jones. I hope they start Eddie Jones at the SF and Wade at SG so Wade can kick butt at is natural position.
I think it's a doubtful addition to a Heat team that promises to do well. Laettner has a good midrange jumper which he can shoot three or four times a game, and he might get a couple of rebounds, and that's it. It helps, but not if he's played more than someone with more potential. Plus, he's had offcourt issues in the past.
Laettner is a great player for the Heat. He was a one time all-star, and still has talent. He is a good mid-range shooter, as well as a good defender and a above average passing big man. He should be a good player for Haslem to practice with.
Biggest disapointment to ever wear a Duke jersey and to come out of the ACC. Washed up as much as Tom Guggs. Wasted!
