Happy yes. Happy he likes playing here, yes. Don't know if he told his agent he didn't want to entertain an offer elsewhere. I would think so giving how cap strapped the Rangers are because there moron GM's keep giving out idiotic NMC and NTC's to non franchise players.

I also think would’ve been a different story of Gallant was still here. I would think Lafreniere was one of the ones that did not have kind things to say on the exit interview.

That’s a sweetheart of a deal for NY. Holy smokes. Laf should be firing his agent unless he really does love playing here.

I guess he does. I'm not sure he would if Gallant was still the coach. Don't know what to make of this team and season coming up. Panarin needs to be demoted on several levels.

Seems like it took a while to make a deal for what was all the Rangers could offer and more than generous for a 39 point season.

Happy the Lafreniere deal is done. To me the best approach to this season is let Lafreniere, Kakko, and Chytil play important roles from the start. If they don't get it done then make a change, but truth be told that should be the approach from the start.

Simply put I don't think this team will ever reach its full potential without those 3 taking the next big step, so you might as well let them sink or swim early, and if they sink mix it up. That is a big blow to our chances anyway, so give it a go I think. And if they take off, that will be huge for our chances.

It will be interesting to see where Wheeler slots in. Could be on any of the top 3 lines.

Good contract for the rangers but basically what he’s worth at this time. Hopefully the kid worked his ass off on his skating in the offseason. Really looking forward to seeing if Laviolette lets panerin pull the shit he’s pulled in the past or cracks down on him. To me his handling will be the key going forward.

I have much more faith in Chytil and Kakko but maybe Lafreniere surprises us. Either way it's a very tough division and conference so nothing is guaranteed.

I don’t have much faith in Chytil. He gets hard every year for about 2 to 3 weeks and then he does nothing.
