I'd like to add him, but I doubt it happens.

Dallas can pay him more money.

    Don't see him signing here.

Would have to be a sign and trade possibly.

If LA gets Kidd, and they don't win a championship next season, Kidd's never getting a ring. :[

I think Kidd would take less money to come to LA and win a title. At 35, his window to do that is closing pretty quickly, and he's not going to have a shot if he goes back to Dallas just to get more money.

I'm really curious to see which veterans are willing to come to LA and play for a title. Unfortunately we don't have much money to spend after we re-sign our key free agents, but hopefully we can cherry pick some ring chasers from this year's free agent market or later on in the season when players get waived for cap space.

I bet Kidd would go to LA for a max MLE deal but that would be 5 years... Might not have enough left for Ariza/Odom

Why do vets always choose to sign with almost all contending teams except for LA??

I hope Kidd can be brought in.

No chance that we sign Kidd for the full 5 years of the MLE. I'd expect an offer from us to be either 2-3 years and be right around that $5mil per year range. If we signed him for 5 years, he'd be what, 40 or so by the time he retires, and at that point, a waste of cash. He's only got a couple more good years left in him, and he realizes that, which is why he might take a paycut to play for a team like us.

Also, signing him won't effect us bringing our own FAs back. We can go over the cap to keep Ariza and Odom, and you best believe Dr. Buss will if that's what it takes to keep a contender in place in LA.

Buss will absolutely go over so i think if money was an issue for kidd, which im sure it is, then we could always offer him a little more, it depends on how much of an issue money is. to be honest, and i dont know why, i dont ever see kidd signing with the cavs, he wants a ring, and he has been linked to LA for years, he said before he would welcome a trade to the lakers, and he and kobe are friends. the only other destination i see kidd going is, well, back to mavs (if its money), or to the celtics, that is if he doesnt mind playing half the minutes he usually would, sharing time with rondo.

As far as I remember, Buss has always been ok with spending money to keep a great team, and this is a great team.

What I'm slightly worried about is if we are able to get an upgrade at any position, probably the PG spot or get a more reliable shooter in the bench. LET'S GO KIDD!!

Lets put it this way... If Kidd EVER wants to raise that Championship Trophy... he should sign with us FOR WHATEVER WE CAN OFFER him that is decent, that simple. IF we get Kidd, and resign Odom or Ariza then we are a lock for the title (barring any major injures).

Yeah, I agree. And barring any crazy trades like Chris Paul to the Cavs for Delonte West! lol
