I can't get the websites up, but on the headlines in hoopshype.com, it said since the Lakers found that Antonio Daniels will be joining the Washington Wizards, the Lakers showed interest in Tyronn Lue, Juan Dixon, Brevin Knight, and Gary Payton. I would try to go for Brevin Knight considering he is an underrated defender, and Gary Payton really disappointed LA two seasons ago.

And, it seems to me that the Lakers are playing for the year 2007, not 2005-06. Whatever happened to Phil's "taking one game at a time" policy? He should be playing for this season, not for the next. WHY DIDN'T THEY GIVE ANTONIO THAT THIRD YEAR?

    Any thoughts on these matters?

Also, I heard that Damon Stoudamire would like to become a Laker.

This may sound ridiculous, but how about the Lakers trading to Detroit for Chauncey Billups? He's all the Lakers want, a point guard who can play defense, shoot, and is unselfish. Any trade ideas to get him to LA?

You guys have nothing of interest to give to Detroit that is worth Billups, maybe you could nab Arroyo.

Then we'll sign someone of value to Detroit, and then we'll trade him in a package.

Unless the lakers trade Kobe and Phil there is no way detroit would give us Chuancy. Second point of topic- There is no way we would want Damon Stoudemire. He's really good, but short. That doesn't exactly play into Jacksons offense...though Damon can jack up 3's and isn't offensive minded so it could work...it'd just be a gaping hole on the defensive end..Anyways GP...That's intriguing just because he's name recognition..but your right, he did disappoint two years ago, and he's only getting older. He's a defensive gaurd but not nearly as good as he used to be. I say getting Lue and Pargo are our best options

I'm down for having Lue back, I know he's short too, but hes familiar with the system under Phil and his defense is pretty strong, remember A.I., hehe. Plus I think his time in Atlanta has improved his offensive skills, would be great to have him back.

I say the Lakers trade Devean George and Jumaine Jones for Chauncey Billups and Carlos Delfino. In the 2005-06 season, Chauncey Billups is owed $5,909,800, and Carlos Delfino is owed $969,600, adding to $6,879,400. Devean George is owed $5,00,600, and Jumaine Jones is owed $1,875,000, adding to $6,875,600. The Lakers do this deal because they get a point guard that will fit the triangle to Phil's standards, and Detroit likes this deal because they can get rid of these two players in the 2006-07 season for cap room.

Oh yeah, and the Lakers get rid of their small forward problems.

Lol, what the hell kind of a trade is that? They trade Billups to clear cap room? Yeah, lets trade the Finals MVP and one of the best clutch players in the league for Devean George and Jumaine Jones for cap space. [IMG]

Wow... arguably the Piston's best player for 2 scrubs and cap room??? The Finals MVP too.

That is just an unreal trade which really shouldn't be taken seriously.

Now that Daniels is out, not sure who the Lakers can pick up that would be a huge difference maker.

Brevin Knight, Earl Watson and Marko Jaric are still on the market. I think the Lakers will end up with one of them.

what about it dude? Why would they want to bring rush back? he can't run PG duties his handle isn't good enough. I say go after marko jaric because he's a big gaurd who can shoot the 3 decently.

I like the sound of Lue, Does anyone remember when he was having mad points in Atlanta, he could be a 2nd 3rd scoring option. Brok3n ticked my memory that Lue had already been a Laker in previous years so this just adds even more reason to bring him to the team. Chauncy Billups is out of the discussion no way.

lol, that JJ & George trade for chauncey got me laughing.

Anyways i really like someone who can ill the void of playing D. Antonio Daniels was my first choice, but with him out i really like Brevin Knight and Earl Watson if Brevin signs with another team. He would be perfect, very high assist-to-turnover ratio, above average defense, and he doesn't need 35 minutes to put up very good numbers. The only thing i worry about will be knight's chemistry with Kobe. If i recall, i've seen them getting at it quite on a few occasions.
