Oh well. Ball, Hart and Ingram and 3 first round picks. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/26981805/lakers-reach-deal-pelicans-davis Not only 3 draft picks , but draft pick swaps as well: No. 4 pick in 2019 Top-8 protected in 2021, becomes unprotected in ‘22 Unprotected swap in ‘23 Unprotected first in ‘24 Unprotected swap in ‘25
I would like to know what Griffin turned down. That is NOT a "monster haul" that Woj calls it. It's just a lot of players. Where's the all star? LOL.
Its a pretty good trade for New Orleans and a good trade for the Lakers but if Laker fans think they are contenders now they are nuts cause I think Davis has become a tad injury prone not major one's but he gets a little nicked up --
NO must have wanted to keep the salary low while Zion develops. If that is the case then this does the job. Nothing we could have offered would have been as kind on their cap space.
Not a good trade for New Orleans. They didn't get Kuzma and have to take Ball. Plus Randle will probably out and Join LA.
I really hope that anyone here didn't expect him to come here. I knew he wasn't and i knew he would go to LA. the NBA is PISSED that a small market won the championship.
That was my argument when I thought Simons would be a better choice for NO than CJ. Why add a vet and his salary if you are New Orleans? But who would you rather have Simons and Collins or Lonzo and Ingram? Maybe the are high on the #4 But I thought we could have made a similar offer with ending contracts.
To be fair, golden state, i believe, isnt small market. Its san francisco/oakland. Any area with a football team (or two, for that matter) isnt a small market.
