Lakers Get Painful Film Session It was straight from the plane to the classroom for the Lakers Tuesday as Phil Jackson called an afternoon film session immediately following a long flight home from Boston. The unusual move -- players typically get the rest of the day off after cross-country flights -- is a clear sign how important Jackson views tonight's home game against the Sacramento Kings. The Lakers led the Kings by a half game for seventh place in the Western Conference playoff standings before Tuesday's games, and Jackson is apparently looking for any edge he can get in the race to avoid top-seeded San Antonio or Dallas in the opening round of the playoffs. Or worse, missing the playoffs entirely. -- Los Angeles Daily News Lakers Must Use Home-Court Edge The Lakers have 13 games left in the regular season, 10 at home, but they can't find comfort in that, not with the way they have performed at home. They have just as easily lost to sub-.500 teams at Staples Center as they have beaten the top teams. Think back to the lowly Seattle SuperSonics, who beat the Lakers last week. -- Riverside Press-Enterprise
