Kobe's 43 Forge Tie With Baylor Kobe Bryant shot his way into the Lakers history books again. Bryant scored 22 of his 43 points in the third quarter of the Lakers' 104-88 victory over the Houston Rockets Sunday. He tied Elgin Baylor for the franchise record for the most 40-plus-point games in a single season with 23. Baylor did it in the 1962-63 season.
