just wondering what you guys think... Im not sure if we have funds available. But he doesnt want to go with the Nets.
He may say he's not happy but, but I don't think he'll let a sudden change of emotion make his decision to move to another team. The odds of him moving are something like 25%.
http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...l_be_in_jersey/ He still joins with NJN and i am happy .Let's hope that DA joins with us and only then we can make PO-s .
Of course he's not happy. Players who claim they are not happy, are trying to hint people that they would rather play for the LA Lakers. Anyway, he would not be a good addition to the team. He did nothing for Vancouver, Atlanta, or Portland. He is a short-lived has been. We need to focus on getting DA and(or) Nick VE
I'm still confused at what the Lakers intentions are for this upcoming season. Right now they are lucky to make the playoffs with their current roster, because of all the uncertainty with the new players. Adding Rahim wouldn't be bad, but it might slow the development of Kwame Brown. I've always been a fan of Raheem, but he does like to get his fair share of touches and you have to wonder how bad his knees are for him to fail a physical. We already have a veteran player with shaky knees, Brian Grant, on the roster (for now.) I also doubt he's willing to sign a two-year deal with the Lakers, and it's unlikely the Blazers would work a favorable deal with us in a sign & trade.
I read before that the Nets are goin to sign him and he is ok with it as long as they dont make him wait more.

Where are we looking to be, especially in a couple of years? Far, I believe is the answer to the question.

Why invest in a frontline player when they won't be part of the team in 2 years? Also acquiring SAR for the MLE, would mean the Lakers cannot sign Derek Anderson or another player to start at PG.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting GiantMidget:</div><div class="quote_post">Both DA and NVE are also "short-lived has been's".</div> The Good News - Phil Jackson has made a career out of resurrecting 'has beens' and turning them into role player specialists The Bad News - The Lakers only want to offer a 2 year maximum contract to any free agent and other teams are willing to offer more. The Ugly News - These two are both upgrades over the current Laker PG spot.
yea, I think landing a quality guard should be the priority right now. With Odom interchangable at the 3 and 4 and Kwame the 4 and 5, I think the Lakers have adequate (just barely) depth in the front court. Obvioulsy, another body wouldn't hurt, but the urgency isn't quite what it is at the point guard position
The only reason SAR name was brought up is because of his name recognition. He wouldn't really be a good fit on the Lakers, and would take away from the other guys- Mihm, Kwame, Bynum. After risking so much on those last two why bring in a guy in the twilight of his career?
