I challenge you to assemble the best Lakers starting five ever but you can only use players that donned the purple and gold and I challenge other teams to give me your best five of all time: Here's my five : PG: Jerry West SG: Kobe Bryant SF: Earvin "Magic" Johnson PF: Robert Horry C: Shaquille O'neal
No disrespect but your starting five is weak. How can you put Robert Horry ahead of other Lakers legend? I go with a bigger lineup. PG: Magic Johnson SG: Kobe Bryant SF: Elgin Baylor PF: Wilt Chamberlain C: Shaquille O'Neal
PG: Magic Johnson SG: Kobe Bryant SF: Wilt Chamberlain PF: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar C: Shaquille O'Neal We'd go with the big lineup.

Yeah I would start my five with that lineup too . We wouldn't be able to play man-to-man defense but can definitely play a zone defense. Kareem, Wilt, Shaq will clock up the paint while KB and Magic harass guys from the perimeter. Nobody can drive into the basket without getting their shot block.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Swish15:</div><div class="quote_post">All-Time Los Angeles Lakers lineup > All-Time Chicago Bulls lineup</div> Do the Magic even have an all time lineup?
Man, you forgot about Kareem, tisk, tisk... PG- Magic Johnson SG- Kobe Bryant SF- James Worthy (beats out Elgin only because of the great chemistry with Magic and Kareem) PF- AC Green (that's right, bring it on with the insults but he helped out in BOTH dynasties- he started for the Millenium Lakers AND Showtime, plus, Wilt and Kareem and Shaq can't play PF, they can come off the bench) C- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (can't stop the skyhook, gets the nod over Shaq and Wilt just for the same reason as Worthy) Wow... our bench would be amazing... Horry, Wilt, Shaq, Gail Goodrich, Jerry West, Kurt Rambis, Elgin Baylor, Byron Scott, George Mikan... hmm, maybe he can play PF... lol, oh well... and they did this on ESPN.com... we won against the Bulls. That was a joke in the first place, all-time Celtics got robbed in the East Finals... sorry, I'm rambling, heh.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Swish15:</div><div class="quote_post">PG: Magic Johnson SG: Kobe Bryant SF: Wilt Chamberlain PF: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar C: Shaquille O'Neal We'd go with the big lineup.</div> cosign, this would beat anyones all time lineup, except the minnesota pg old terrell brandon (plenty of solid guys to pick) sg Malik Sealy??? our sg's suck sf Gugliotta pf KG c Mikan (we get him since he technically playe in minnesota, plus our next best is kandi man or dean garrett).
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting bruin007:</div><div class="quote_post">I know I thought i was going to catch some flack for Rob but AC Green oh man what were you thinking?</div> He ran the floor, played a role in the Showtime era, we don't exactly need anymore offense in that starting squad, knew how to flow with James, Magic, and Kareem, you knew he wouldn't get injured (I believe he holds the record for most games played in a row- over 1,000) and we don't have a true starting PF, so I figured, why not? I just wanted someone with chemistry for everyone, it came down to him, Rambis, and Horry. Well, since he actually ran with Magic, he gets the nod over Horry, and he's more athletic than Kurt. Also, it doesn't hurt that he was a great finisher in the 80's... its a lot more difficult to stop a 4-man fast break then it is to stop a 3-man one. I hate the thought of one of our pure centers playing PF... and like I said, I reeeaaally don't think our offense will suffer with him starting, do you? Does anyone?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Swish15:</div><div class="quote_post">PG: Magic Johnson SG: Kobe Bryant SF: Wilt Chamberlain PF: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar C: Shaquille O'Neal We'd go with the big lineup.</div> Mine exactly!

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Best Kept Secret:</div><div class="quote_post">Do the Magic even have an all time lineup?</div> PG: Penny Hardaway/Scott Skiles SG: T-Mac/Nick Anderson SF: Corey Magette/Chris Webber PF: Chris Webber/Horace Grant C: Shaq/Ben Wallace Thats what I can think of atm.
I think of the 1995 Magic that I cheered for to beat Houston!!!!! Anderson, Penny, Shaq, Horace, and Scott.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Franchise4Ever:</div><div class="quote_post">PG: Penny Hardaway SG: T-Mac SF: Corey Magette/Chris Webber PF: Ben Wallace/Chris Webber C: Shaq Thats what I can think of atm.</div> That's weak, I can't include Magette, Webber, or Wallace... Magette was there for one lack-luster season where he averaged 8.4 PPG, Wallace, maybe, but still only one year with some of his smallest stats, and Webber... what? He was drafted by them, yes, but he never even played for them, lol. He was traded on draft night to Golden State. Even if he did play there, that means Penny wouldn't be there: he was in the trade for C-Dubb...

Just look at all players in their prime not when they actually played for them I think a lineup (In all their primes) PG: Penny Hardaway/Scott Skiles SG: T-Mac/Nick Anderson SF: Corey Magette/Chris Webber PF: Chris Webber/Horace Grant/Shawn Kemp C: Shaq/Ben Wallace Would be devastating. (I gotta keep Magette....can't think of any good SF's )
lol, yeah, it's nice, I was just pointing it out for the realistic perspective, because if its when they were on the team, then the all-time Magic would probably just be the '95 Magic + T-Mac.
