HoopsHype.com reported that The Lakers playing close attention to spanish sensation "Rudy Fernandez". The link takes you to a spanish news paper with these headlines: "Los Lakers siguen la pista a Rudy Fern?ndez." Somebody with expertise in reading spanish should interpertate this for us. My guess is that Rudy is a mid to late pick which leads me to believe that Kup is looking to do some dealing to get into the mid to late first. Maybe that Indiana trade for Bender and a draft pick is real. This backs up my philosiphy that LA is search for a backup SG in this draft. While they cant justify picking up one with their lottery pick (unless Gerald Green falls to them), and knowing that size and PG help should be the their first priority. If a later 1st rounder is their for them they gotta address a backup for Kobe with this pick. Mainly because they can't afford to run their investment(#8) into the ground. They have to have a back up that they trust so that Kobe can rest them knees. Also they need to build that ugly bench. Do me a favor and look at the profile write ups on Rudy at nbadraft.net and at draftcity. All comparisons point to a Ginobli type. Him and Sasha in the backcourt of that bench with Caron,Bender, and Douthit.....Man....write it down on paper and look at it..
(loosely translated) During the game between DKV Joventut and Real Madrid there were numerous interesting spectators in the media (area)... It brought Mitch K, general manager of the lakers, at his side someone (not quite sure.. maybe trying to say that "he had something that had the words ISR on it") with the words "international scouting report"/ and the young Rudy Fernandez was between them.. (i think thats what they mean).. Marca tuvo acceso a las notas que escrib?a durante el encuentro y, adem?s de las observaciones estad?sticas del ojeador de los Lakers, hab?a una pregunta en la que s?lo el escolta verdinegro, de entre todos los dem?s, consigui? una respuesta afirmativa. ??Should we see him again? (?deber?amos verlo de nuevo?). (He was)Checking his notes(in the guide) and writing during the encounter, and then listening to the lakers they had one question between all of them, "should we see him again?" (this is loosely translated and not word for word) Todo apunta, pues, a que los Lakers est?n interesados en seguirle la pista y tendr?n que rellenar m?s informes del jugador durante los inminentes ?playoffs?. They all said YES, and that the Lakers are interested in getting more information about the player during the coming Playoffs. ?Rudy?, en estos momentos, ocupa la posici?n n?mero 17 del ?draft? de la NBA seg?n la web nbadraft.net, una de las m?s reconocidas por su eficacia al acertar en las previsiones. Rudy (Fernandez) is projected to be the number 17 pick in the NBA draft according to NBAdraft.net, one of the most recognized sites for their accuracy (loosely translated) Env?a esta p?gina por correo electr?nico
I wouldn't mind adding Rudy Fernandez to the squad either. Drafting him in the 17th spot is about right, however, this means the potential second deal to land Boozer is not going to happen.

If we can pick him up, I'd be very happy.
