Heh. You beat me to it.

Yet another point guard on the SIXTEEN man roster plus the possibility of Malone signing on. That basically means that we shouldn't get too used to the current roster because it's a pretty sure bet that at least one more trade is in the works.

That's good, if they can get a good player in a trade (J. Kidd?). Also, I think Bobbit (rookie from Cincinatti) is a solid PG that can contribute.

lakers def stocking players for a trade now, the nets-lakers trade for kidd looks every day more possible considering the nets dont have a huge personel of players and thats whu the lkaers got and the lkaers dont got 1 solid good pg and the nets do u know

Kidd is just 31. Not like a super old man yet, and still one of the premier PG's. I wouldn't mind adding him to the roster. I think he will compliment Kobe

I wouldnt be surprised either to see J Kidd in the purple and gold. I just kinda want to see Banks runnin the point but I wouldnt mind Kidd at all. Better than Payton for us.

Come on now Lakers fans, lets be realistic just because the Lakers signed Tony Bobbitt doesnt increase the chances of a Nets-Lakers deal. Tony Bobbitt is not a natural playmaking point guard. He is a 2-guard with point guard size, who is basically having to switch to the PG spot because he isnt big enuff really to play the 2 spot. The guy can hit the perimeter shot light out But thats about it. And his shot selection and attiude alone should tell you he will have a hard time adjusting to the demands of being an NBA point guard. He is a solid player, great shooter. But that doesnt change the fact that inorder for the Lakers to land Jason Kidd they are going to have to give up at least 1 standout younger talent. Aside from Kobe, the Lakers next 2 best young talents play the same position( Butler/Odom) small forward. And none of them are needed by the Nets because they just signed RJ to a hefty deal and just signed Eric Williams to a three year deal, so it looks like that Small forward spot is pretty much filled.

Honestly the Lakers just dont have the players needed to acquire a player of kidd's level. And no a bunch of Draft picks wont land you kidd even coming off of injury. I doubt very seriously that you will ever see a Lakers-Nets deal involving Kidd. But I guess you cats can continue to hope.

I agree with Henacy, I doubt Bobbitt even makes the final cut. The Lakers are loaded at the guard spot, and unless they make a trade there's no chance he beats out Atkins, Banks, Sasha, or Rush. This move has nothing to do with acquiring Jason Kidd, and I don't think the Lakers want him because of his salary.

Kidd may only be 31, but by the time his contract expires he will be ancient for an athlete at 36, making 21+ Million a year. Having Kidd as the starter will also slow the development of Sasha and Banks, assuming they are not part of the deal. Without Payton and Fox on the roster, the Lakers don't really have anyone the Nets would want. The Nets are interested in getting expiring contracts, draft picks, or young cheap talent. The Lakers can't satisfy any of those needs.

If the Lakers wanted to keep a high salary, veteran player in the decline, they should have just held onto Shaq.

I agree with Henacy and shapecity. I doubt he will make the final cut also. He is a natural SG with a PG body. And I really doubt this has ANYTHING to do with J Kidd.

I was just happy for Bobbitt because I really wanted him to get signed after I saw him play in the SPL and I still hope he can make the IL but I dont think it'll happen.

I dont know how the roster is going to look this year guys. We still can trade more players, and there are still good players at there that we can get.
