Lamar Hunt lost an 8 year battle with prostate cancer this week. He will be missed.

I didn't know much about him, but he apparently played a major role in getting the NFL to its current status, may he rest in peace.

Yeah, he helped shape the NFL back in the early days. Should he be remembered for what he has done. What a great man and it's a shame that he has to die because of prostate cancer.

    Read all about his life:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamar_Hunt

A major figure in football history...and a member of the pro football hall of fame, the tennis hall of fame and the soccer hall of fame.

A tragic loss to the football world...

I actually had just read a book on Lamar Hunt before he passed away and his determination is what impressed me the most. No one took him serious but soon learned he was a force to be reckoned with

Lamar Hunt was "Big Oil". The kid born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He was blessed with a long and enjoyable life. To his credit he did well with his "old money".

A true NFL hero. Without the Hunt family, the modern NFL doesn't exist. He will be missed.
