Retired NBA player Lamar Odom has passed away this evening at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Odom just 35, was rushed to the Las Vegas hospital after being found unconscious at the Love Ranch brothel, approximately 70 miles away from Las Vegas. According to the 911 call, a woman found Odom on his side with mucus discharging from his nose and mouth. 911 was immediately called and he was rushed to the Parhump Hospital where he was stabilized. Paramedics attempt to transfer Odom to the trauma center in Las Vegas but at 6 feet 10 inches tall, Odom could not fit in the helicopter.

According to witnesses, Lamar Odom had been staying alone at the brothel since Saturday and had been taking an herbal substitute for Viagra.

Lamar Odom passed away with his ex wife, Khloe Kardashian and ex mother in law Kris Jenner at his side.

Lamar Odom leaves behind two children, Destiny and Lamar Jr. Lamar Odom led a victorious NBA career where he played the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, and the Dallas Mavericks. He won two championships with the Lakers and was named the sixth man of the year in 2011. He married reality star Khloe Kardashian 2009. After the couple’s separation, many speculated that Odom began to abuse drugs, specifically crack cocaine.

He gave up on his children and his ex-wife. He was weak (Another snake bite within the weird Kardashian family).

From what I see, he's still alive, but barely.

Let's hope he recovers and cleans up his act.

My brother lost his life to crack at the age of 37. I had to live most my childhood and young adult life trying to find him in the ghetto. He was an amazing person that cares about everyone, but his vice was too hard.

There were countless notes and diary letters I read, which he kept in his safe. Most of them were pleads with God to pull him from this addiction. The others were letters to his wife and children asking for forgiveness for not being strong enough to kick this drug.

You are right... Those that assume and judge, even stating that his pain is justified don't see the true picture. I would rather have him alive today, than talk about being glad he's gone.

I suppose I'm a little bit raw right now. A good friend committed suicide about two weeks ago and he'd struggled with addiction issues ever since I knew him. And we're not talking about some perennial fuck-up. He worked in medicine, he had an 11 year old son who he loved more than anything and was a good father to him and he was one of the most genuinely nice people you'd ever meet. And yes, I guess you could say he was "weak" but that didn't make him worthless and it didn't mean he didn't love his family.
Narcotic addiction is a demon I'll never truly understand because I've never lived it, but based on what I've seen it do to people, I think it's a little flippant to casually judge people going through it.

People on the internet are callous and quick to judge.

I was reading a thread about two brothers who died in a car crash because they were going too fast and hit a wall. Responses in the thread on Reddit were essentially, "Good.... they deserved to die because they were stupid." I don't think I've ever met someone who hasn't done something stupid. I don't think I've ever met someone who hadn't done something careless while driving. The hypocrisy of the average facebooker is beyond comprehension. If you go into the comments on just about any article that KGW or the Oregonian posts, you will quickly lose faith in humanity.

You have every reason and right to be raw. I'm still raw about my brother. I looked up to him highly and he lost his life from the very same thing. There is nothing wrong with that, and I am agreeing with you btw. Sorry to hear about your good friend. I know how tough it is. It took me a good lifetime to finally accept my loss.

I love the comments on Oregonlive, no matter what the article there are the same 3 trolls who find a way to blame Obama.

I would recommend going. It gives you an opportunity to say goodbye in your mind.

REPORT: Lamar Odom Brain Dead, Khloe Required To Decide Whether To Pull Plug
    TheCount.com October 14, 2015
Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian‘s divorce was never finalized due to a california court backlog, which means it will be Khloe who decides whether or not pull the plug on his life support system. Medical professionals have reportedly concluded that the former basketball player is “brain dead.”

Khloe rushed to her estranged husband’s Las Vegas bedside after he was found comatose from a toxic mix of cocaine and opioids. Now khloe will face the daunting task of deciding to disconnect his life support.

This morning, we spoke with a member of Lamar Odom’s family – who confirmed that Lamar’s condition is EXTREMELY DIRE. Lamar’s family told MTO, “Lamar did not have a will or anything. So whatever money he has [his fortune is estimated to be $50 million] will go to Khloe and not to his kids. And she’s his next of kin too . . so she decides if they stop lifesaving measures.” We’re told that Lamar’s children and his ex-fiance Liza Morales arrived in Las Vegas early this morning. h/t mto

Under Nevada law, Khloe has the right to make all decisions regarding his continued medical treatment, a responsibility that supersedes Odom’s family members including his children.

Odom is said to be experiencing ongoing strokes and seizures as he fights for his life.

An MRI revealed since being admitted to the hospital in Las Vegas Tuesday night, Lamar suffered multiple strokes. It’s unclear if brain damage resulted from the strokes. We’re also told Lamar is on a 3-5 hour dialysis for kidney failure. h/t tmz

Former teammate, Kobe Bryant is said to also be at his bedside.

+> He was and is closer than you and I could imagine. The people who have seen the light have that momentous decision to accept death or by some circumstance of fate or personal decision return back to the body. Since he was at a low point and if he returns, his decision to become strong will happen when his eyelids move and his pupils expand.
