<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- USA Basketball expects Detroit's Rip Hamilton and Miami's Lamar Odom to fill the final two vacancies on its ever-changing Olympic roster, ESPN.com has learned. Sources close to Odom told ESPN.com he will accept the invitation. Hamilton, however, has hinted at concerns about security in Athens and said he will delay his decision until after the NBA Finals. Marbury is the only recognized point guard in that group, but Odom will join James, Iverson and Wade in a group of combo guards who can handle the ball. Committee sources said that, despite the loud displeasure voiced last week by Anthony, its position on the Denver rookie hasn't changed. USAB officials fear there would be little playing time available for Anthony with James, Jefferson and Marion essentially playing the same position. Odom and Wade were preferred, sources said, because of their ballhandling abilities.</div> More here. I'm glad the Heat boys didn't pu$$y out like the other players . This is going to be great, it will be the first time the Heat have had two players on the Dream Team since Zo and Hardaway. I'm just very concerned about injuries though, but i'm sure the Heat are taking extra precautions and have Odom and Wade on conditioning programs to ensure they won't get injured and will be good to go for next season. As a fan, it just makes you feel good when players from your home team represent your country in the Olympics and do not wuss out like other superstars have. I honestly don't know how i'd feel if Lamar and Dwyane cried wolf saying they're afraid of safety or something lame like that, but then again that's not something I have to worry about, unlike fans in almost every other NBA city .
Good for him. After the season he had, he definitely deserves it. Him and Wade both do. Odom and Wade together wil be great. Can't wait to see them playing. And just to make sure, didn't wade get in because Bibby declined?
