    I got this of LG

Apparently multiple fans spotted him yelling at Phil during the game. It was later confirmed on a radio station as well. If this is true, then great news for us. This probably means Lamar's done as a Laker. The last Laker to yell and disrespect this coaching staff was sent packing. Hopefully Lamar is next [IMG]

Ha, you sure he'll be traded just for screaming at Jackson I doubt it.

    But please make it happen.

Odom needs to channel his anger on the court instead of yelling at coaches or taking cheap shots at the opposition late in games. He needs to be shipped back to Miami or send him to New York where he can fit in with the rest of the malcontents in the league.

He cannot handle this pressure and doesn't deserve to be on the Lakers team.

Ship him out for someone who will give it their all every night.

Who would they trade him for? Zach Randolph?

At this stage, I'd take Randolph over him. As much of a headcase as he is, at least he consistently performs. Plus, imagine a frontcourt of Randolph and Bynum. Two very skilled post players and very good rebounders, teams would have a large amount of issues guarding us then, especially with our perimeter shooters playing well.

Agree, I think its a somewhat realistic trade for both sides but the Lakers would be nasty with Z-Bo. He gets a lot of crap for his poor defense, attitude, etc. but the guy is a bonafide stud scoring in the paint and at mid-range. Not to mention hes a great rebounder. He'd be a great fit alongside Bynum since Bynum can cover his ass on defense and Z-Bo can spread the floor for big Bynum. I think playing for the Lakers and Phil, Randolph would really buy in and be a successful player. A team built around Kobe, Randolph, and Bynum with a ton of versatile role players such as Fisher, Farmar, Walton, Ariza, Kwame Brown, Vlad, Crittenton, Turiaf, Mbenga. That team just has everything; couple of elite scorers on the perimeter and in the paint, a lot of guys who can hit the three, a lot of unselfish players, several big athletic PF/Cs who can do the dirty work, some good perimeter defenders, youth as well as steady veterans, tons of depth.

That would be scary IMO. The Lakers would have to take on Randolph's big contract which goes 2 years longer than Odom's but I think it would make them a real force. Phil is a master of managing superstar personalities and he can lead a team in the playoffs. Kobe is the best individual player in the game, Bynum is shaping up to be very dominant, add in a 20/10 guy in Randolph as well as all those Laker role players. They could really shine in a western conference that has gotten a bit weaker at the top.

I'd take Malik Rose, NY's Trade Exception ($2.3M) and Fred Jones for Odom at this point.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I do NOT want Ben Wallace. He might be more overpaid than Odom, he's got a longer deal and he has clearly hit the downside of his career faster than expected. A couple years ago I might take him, but not at this point in his career.

I thought Trade Exceptions cannot be combined with anything in a trade. Ie. it must be

NY's Trade Exception for Laker's player with contract around 2.3 M.

You are correct. I think Malik Rose and Fred Jones (combined about 10.4 million) is good enough to trade for Odom (13.5 mil). The TE would have to be used separately for a player of 2.3 mil or less.

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Lamar Odom for Gerald Green and Theo Ratliff anyone?</div>

I already said this in another thread, the last thing the T'Wolves want is a glorified role player on a max contract. They already have a stud combo F in Gomes who isn't mentally weak, overpaid, old, inconsistent, etc. like Odom is. I don't think any team will take Odom and give up just expiring contracts except maybe the Knicks just because they're nuts.

To an extent, I do agree with you Run. However, I honestly think the reason Odom can't seem to perform consistent is because of the team he's on. He clearly can't handle the pressure of playing for the Lakers. Just look at the rest of his stops. For the Clippers, where not much was expected of them, he was very, very good when he was healthy. Then he went to Miami and had probably the best season of his career. Again, taht team wasn't supposed to be good, they just ended up being pretty decent. So, I think in the right situation, Odom could be able to perform. Plus, in Minny, he'd be asked to probably be 3rd option on a lot of the nights behind McCants and Jefferson. So I actually do think Minny would be a good situation for him. Plus, you mention Gomes, well, Odom has the ability to play the 3, allowing them to keep Gomes at the 4. And again, his big 'ol contract is off the books next year, which would mean even more cap flexibility for them next year.

Yeah you're right. It would have to be two separate deals.

Lakers would have to waive Karl, Mbenga, or Jones to take on the extra players.

I'll pass on Jermaine O'neal...the only thing Odom does better than him is stay on the court. O'neal's career, in my opinion, is over. He hasn't proven that he can stay healthy.

Gerald Green, I'd try if we failed to get Randolph, that's all. I'm not sold on his talents, at all.

Pau Gasol is still an elite big in the league, Odom isn't going to come close to fetching him.

    Zach Randolph! Do it Mitch!

Jermaine O'Neal has said that he may be planning on sitting out the rest of the season to rest his knees. And even when he was playing, he didn't look good at all. Bynum abused him both meetings, and he only looks like a shell of his former self.

I'm not sold on Gerald Green, if we want him, we can sign him in the offseason as a free agent since the Timberwolves didn't pick up his contract. It seems like all the Celtic fans here don't believe Gerald Green will amount to much, some even say Tony Allen's the better player. Again, if we want him bad enough, we can sign him in the offseason. I doubt anyone is going to give him the entire MLE, let alone a huge contract.

I would absolutely love Pau Gasol, but that's not going to happen in a million years. I don't like Zach Randolph at all, but Mamba seems pretty convinced he'd be a good fit on this team, so I'll take his word for it.
