I was drafting out my dream team a while ago, and my friend pointed out most of them were Spanish:
I pointed out that Messi, Milito, Pirlo and Gerrard weren't Spanish, so he pointed out that Messi and Milito were Argentinian, which apparently is basically Spanish, this got me thinking, which is the best footballing language?

    Very interesting topic.

I think we can come up with some pretty nice squads, unfortunally I don't have the time now, but I'll try to get to it later.

By the way half of the players for Argentina are Italian in reality, who migrated to Argentina. (lot did migrate to Brazil as well)

For example Messi is an Italian name.

Portuguese would basically consist of Portugal + Brazil
French would be France plus most of Africa
I think Italian and English would be pretty much screwed as they would stay the same (though English would be the Home Nations plus USA, amongst others)

Brazil is somewhat amazing regarding immigrations. Here are some number from Wikipedia.

So that means the best player is a blend of Spanish and Italian?
