I cracked the screen on my Acer Aspire laptop, and took it to a local guy who said it would be a piece of (pretty expensive) cake. His estimate was one hour of labor, plus the price of the new screen. He ended up taking two and a half hours, and when he finished, he couldn't get the power to come on at all. No lights, no nothing. Anyone know if I'm screwed, or is there a relatively simple fix?

depends...what exactly did he replace on the screen? might have shorted something or left a wire disconnected.

He replaced the screen itself. If it was a short, shouldn't there be some sort of reset button?

nope. some have a small switch but usually they are transistors if he didn't ground himself....or perhaps he disconnected part of the power supply and forgot to plug it back in?
