Nick Johnson hit a little ground ball to LaRoche. LaRoche picks it up, he could've tagged Johnson, but decides to walk over to 1st base. Nick Johnson was hustling throughout the play and beat LaRoche to 1st base. This lead to 5 runs in the 5th inning, and blew the entire game for Atlanta. This also lead to the ejection of Bobby Cox, once again..I think we need to trade him..Hes hitting like .210, he hits into more double plays than anyone I have ever seen in my entire life. When you make a mistake like today you dont even deserve to be playing baseball. There is no excuse for not hustling. Trade the bastard.
No kidding man he does suck....!! You may call me stupid but i honestly think if we would of kept Julio Franco he could of done 10 Times better than Laroche Julio was an awesome first basemen plus he cant hit! Even though he is 47 yrs of age he could of done better than the 24-25 yr old Laroche
Julio Franco is a stud for how old he is and how consistent of a batter he is.LaRoche is just going through a slump like most baseball players do.Last season Jeter was batting like .197 throughout the beggining of the season.I do however think this was a bonehead play and Bobby Cox should've thrown him out of the game for that.Andruw Jones also did this when he was younger.
I saw the play as it happened, they both touched the bag at virtually the same time, and I believe that Johnson came around to score, which makes it worse.
I saw that play, there's absolutely not excuse for that. He's just jogging and gets beat, you always need to hustle and I bet he's getting an earful from the skipper.
