Larry Brown has really amazed me this season not only with his coaching, but with his character. He took over for the Coach of the Year. The only way to be sucessful would be to take the Pistons to the finals which he was able to accomplish. He out coached a guy who had 9 rings to get his first, which was well deserved. A lot of people were talking about Payton and Malone and how they deserve one but how about Brown?

I gained even more respect for him when he gave the former Pistons coach Rich Carlisle(sp?) and former players credit when he was awarded the Championship trophy. I was simply amazed how he gave this former coach and the former players the credit before acknowledging himself and his team.

He is indeed a true Hall Of Famer, hence why he is in there. He did do a lot of great things with the Pistons this season. He did deserve the ring, especially after being one of the top coaches in the NBA for 20 years and not getting one. He did a phenomenal job of outcoaching Phil and preparing his team for each and every game. Larry Brown is in the Hall for a reason, and it's because of the fact that he has been a great coach for the last 20 years. Winning the ring finally brings something to his career that he had been lacking though prior to now. Congrats to Larry.

Yeah he did a great job on AI. Anyways, the only coach to win NCAA championship and finally a NBA championship. Big ups to Larry.

Larry has been a great coach for a long time and this title was well overdue. If he took the Phil Jackson rout who knows he may have 5 championship rings right now. Most of the time he went to lottery teams and turned them into playoff teams and now in one year turns a very good team into world champions.

I don't know what this man can't do.

Now lets hope he gets that olympic gold medal in the summer.

He's one of the few great teachers left in the game, most of the other guys are just coaches...

And he has a pretty hot wife, too. [IMG]

Damn, I wished the Rockets could have nabbed Coach Brown in the offseason instead of Van Gundy.

He could have outcoached Phil night in and night out that year and it wouldn't have mattered. He didn't have a team assembled that could beat them. In fact, no one at that time had a team assembled who could even stay with them in the playoffs that year. That year, they went 15-1 in the playoffs and made it look easy. I think I'll leave it at this, that year, was there any question who the champ would be after they swept the Spurs and beat them by an average of what, 23 ppg, no. The 76ers had no chance.

Yes larry brown deserves alot of respect at the age of 63 he became the oldest coach to win a nba title and the only coach to win a ncaa and nba title he did a great job working with rasheed wallace to fix him into the offense and the whole team defense consept He also earns my respect by putting whats good for the nba ahead of whats good for larry brown he always takes the league into consideration before himself and that is truly respectable and honorable he is also a great coach to be around he helped develope billups alot being that he expects perfection out of his point guards anyway true hall of fame coach in larry brown

People tended to underrate him because he didn't have the rings. Like Allnet said, he took lottery bound teams and turned them around. IMO, that accomplishes more than coaching a team that already has the talent to win the title. He's also the first coach to win a NCAA title and an NBA title. Pretty impressive.

Phil Jackson played with Jordan and Scottie, then took a year off to coach Kobe and Shaq. He's a great coach, but I think Larry is a better one.

Do you believe in punctuation [IMG] ? And, I think that Billups was already developed. Rick Carlisle had pretty much done that the previous two years with him. But, I will agree, he did do a good job with Sheed and controlling him.

Larry Brown has tremendous respect for the game of basketball itself. he's a basketball purist. he believes that it is, and always has been, a team sport. he believes in fundamental principles like defense and sharing the ball. like AllNet said, he's a teacher first, basketball coach second.

he's gone on record saying that he will come back for another year. there was some speculation that after the Olympics he may retire (since he's reached the pinnacle of NCAA, NBA, and the Olympics).

and yes, Larry Brown is a dog.....his wife is a hottie [IMG]
